This is a pretty unique story of how I came to visit Eddie's Repair - one I'm pretty grateful for. Apologies in advanced, but there's some story involved! For those not interested - I'll give a TL;DR:
Despite about to close on a rainy night, Eddie helped my friend and I debug numerous problems WAY past closing hours (3 hours to be exact) in his shop and miraculously managed to find the issue(s) after a daunting process. Professional, courteous, and pleasant to talk to - Eddie went through everything as they happened, never spoke down to my friend and I, and helped above and beyond. If I ever have computer problems I can't figure out on my own, I know where I will go from now on.
Onto the story - I'll try to keep things short.
I recently took a stab at building my first PC with a friend I met in gaming who is quite knowledgeable in the field and made a few machines himself - we planned a ton of stuff in advanced and actually met up for the first time in real life to go ahead and make it - a daunting 6 hour drive involved. After investing quite a few pretty pennies into all the parts and waiting weeks for them to arrive, we finally got to putting it together at 11 in the morning. After a few grueling hours and some close calls with bent pins and tight squeezes for part installation, we got everything assembled and tried booting the beast up. Much to our despair, we were met with numerous code reports that we self researched and attempted solving with the CPU and boot sequence, all the way until 6:45pm (so almost 8 hours with no working machine). Unfortunately my friend had to take the 6 hour drive back home the next morning, so we were pretty bummed and unsure how to proceed. We looked into nearby repair places but found most weren't worth the drive in the rain. We came across Eddie's shop in the list, and saw it was the only one close enough to make a gamble with, and gave a quick call about closing time - to find out they were closing in 15 minutes. We quickly explained the situation and Eddie graciously offered that if we made it by 7:15 it'd be okay - the first sign of going a little extra. We safely rushed over in the abysmal weather, showing up reasonably late (after closing) to find that Eddie was ready to take a look right away. Over 3 hours we debugged almost every part inside the machine that pointed to the issues (CPU, Ram, storage, GPU, MOBO, slots, etc). We ran into numerous confusing results, and the sensation of defeat was constantly rising - but Eddie kept trying things out (even while having to take personal calls to explain to his family where he was - this guy is a HERO). Eventually we isolate the issues to a few bad slots on the mobo, a loose cable, and the m.2 memory I had, and devise a solution in the shop. After those 3 hours were done I had a computer that finally turned on, made it past posting, and Eddie even went the extra mile to help me do setup in shop and get a bunch of the typical malware-adjacent programs that modern installations come with off with a nifty command line prompt. There were lows and highs all through the experience, but never once did Eddie show frustration, nor did he shrink from the challenge. A true every day hero in my book, I'll surely never forget the help he gave in such a unique experience for my friend and I - and gets my recommendation moving forward to anyone I hear about having computer problems in my area.
If you're reading this Eddie - a thousand thanks and blessings upon you and your family,...
Read moreI purchased one of Eddie's custom made high-end gaming computers. This is the best computer I've had in my life!! Its performance smooth and buttery, and the computer's physical setup is intuitive - not to mention a literal work of art. Sometimes I'll just stare at it and go, "ahhhh....I got so lucky to wander into Eddie's store."
I came to Eddie and his wife due to issues with a gaming computer I bought on NewEgg. They quickly informed me that the computer had been assembled with cheap parts from Wish.com and Alibaba, an apparently common practice at NewEgg nowadays. Eddie offered two options: repairing my computer at a great price, or using it as a trade-in towards one of his masterpieces. I chose the latter option, and was pleasantly surprised by how much he offered for my trade-in.
Eddie and his wife Sarah are wonderful people: patient, kind, informative, and supportive. They're also fast and efficient workers with a deep understanding of the computer world. I had a blast nerding out on gaming computer components with them before walking out with my prize. I'm looking forward to returning every eight or so months for checkups, at no cost to me.
You won't regret coming to Eddie's Gaming Computers and Repair for all your computer needs!!
Edit: I was unhappy with the level of fan noise and had a few WoW-specific issues with tabbing in and out. Eddie did two full remote sessions with me to fix these issues, and they even fixed a few things for free when I brought the computer into the store. You cannot go wrong with service from Eddie...
Read moreEddie's level of customer service is beyond anything I have ever seen from an individual business owner! I showed up to his shop on Christmas Eve in a bit of a panic as I had been shopping and reading up on gaming pc's for my son for months but still didn't feel knowledgeable enough to make the purchase or where to buy it from. Now with time running out, its Christmas Eve and I showed up to this store and Eddie took the time to get to know me and what I was looking for in a gaming pc for my 11 year old son. We talked for almost 2 hours and boy did I learn a ton from this guy and saved myself a lot of money with my new found knowledge! He sold me an amazing pc gaming unit that day and even gave me a break on the price since he understood I was watching the cost for this since my son is only 11 but is a serious gamer lol. Since this day, I have made several calls to Eddy with questions and each time he blows me away with how helpful and assessible he is! I just met the guy but I feel as if we've been friends for years! I will never buy from anyone else as long as Eddie is around. He is honest, fair, kind and extremely knowledgeable. I am so happy I discovered this place!! Thank you so much Eddie! I will be seeing...
