High Spirits Coffee & Boba — Restaurant in West Allis

I've been eyeing this place for a while as I love a good boba shop so today I gave it a try.

At first, I was taken aback because I wasn't expecting the open concept with the vape shop but it didn't really bother me too much as the place was very clean and nicely decorated. I was also greeted by a really kind gentleman who took my order.

Unfortunately they were out of the larges boba size and I'm so sad about it because the horchata boba that I ordered was.... 10/10.... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️... 👍🏽👍🏽... genuinely one of the most flavorful boba drinks I've had in a long while. The tapioca was delicious also very delicious, chewy, and clearly soaked in rich brown sugar! Highly recommend and hopefully they have the large sized cups next time because I was wanting more.

I also ordered a Philly Cheesteak to go and... WOW. This place doesn't lack flavor or seasoning. I had to save half for my husband so that he could try later; he also loved it. His words exactly, "you sure you got this from a boba shop?!"

The only criticism/feedback I have is for them to consider (which caused me to rate 4 stars) is the price for their small drink and not having stock of the larger cups. I can easily pay $8 at other boba spots for 2 if not 3 times the size of what I got today. But again, what they lacked in size they made up for in flavor.

Can't wait to visit again and hopefully in the summer they'll have the garage doors open to enjoy...

High Spirits is a confusing experience with pleasant highlights.

The Good: First and foremost they carry the best fries of the pub world, the crusty crunchy outside, delightfully balanced seasoning and melty insides.

The staff is all extremely pleasant and in a good mood at 1030a. They were accommodating and patient with my indecision.

The Eh: The business is three in one. I found this place because I was looking for a breakfast cafe and it was described that way by their own website. There is no breakfast here. Walking up to the building it looks like there are 3 tenants. A cafe, a burger grill, and a vape shop. When you want in you realize it’s just one business. The inside is completely open space. The Grill and Cafe businesses are served by one counter on one side and a Vape shop on the other end. I was with my son so my first thought was… would there be vaping around us while we ate. The wasn’t the case.

The menu itself is fast casual pub food. The fries are my favorite style but the rest is average. Boba teas seem to be the focus of the cafe menu but I did not try them.

For a place that says High Spirits, there is THC, but no alcohol. The Grill n Chill implies comfort, but the seats are stiff and sterile steel - no comfort to be found.

Judging by the layout, and the traffic, people come for vaping supplies and end up taking home...
