Maricel's Dominican Beauty Salon — Local services in Greensboro

I have only been to this salon maybe 2 times before. However, Maricel was not there today when I stopped by. I had to wait over 30 minutes for the stylist on duty to return to provide services. When the stylist arrived late, I had not met her before. She was an older lady (unsure of her name) with all white short hair with glasses and she was very unprofessional. She did not want to wash her hands when she arrived to the salon. She wanted to start my hair without handwashing. When asked to hand wash or sanitize her hands she became very rude and said that she was not going to service my hair? I asked her to use heat protectant from the hot irons and she got upset with the simple request. She was distracted and acted like she didn’t want to work at all. There was 1 other customer there and another staff member that witnessed this and they both was shaking there heads in dismay at this stylist very unprofessional attitude as she walked away to the back and said that she was not going to service me. I will never return to this salon after this experience. Please go to another salon that is more professional to their customers. Please be careful with this hair salon. I hadn’t had any bad experiences previously until my last appointment. I have been natural for 10+ years. I have been to this salon plenty of times with no issues until the Male who runs the front register washed my hair for the very first time. I knew something was wrong once I got home because I smelled chemicals such as relaxer. I brushed it off because I thought there was no way in the world he could have did that without my consent or evening saying anything. The next week my hair started shedding and falling out in chunks. About 2-3 weeks after the appointment I washed my hair at home and it continued to fall out even more. Fast forward to today I went back to my original hair stylist and without her knowing anything that happened she asked me “did you put a relaxer in your hair???”. I immediately told her what happened and she said “he definitely put something in your hair because your strands are relaxed”. I am so hurt and livid and wouldn’t recommend this hair salon to ANYONE. He completely ruined my natural hair...

My daughters and I frequent this salon weekly for hair care. We love Carmen and how our hair looks when leaving. Coming from nyc where we had our Dominican stylist for over a decade she is equally great. Ive gone 2weeks without washing and we are natural and our hair last. Quality service. Glad to have found my hair a home. No long waits. No ghetto conversation. My 2 daughters and myself are in and out within 2.5hrs max even on a crowed day which is about 45mins per head. Our service includes hot oil and deep conditioning for me and deep conditioning always for them. All in all i love how healthy our hair looks and feels.
