Kitchen sink is one of my wife and I‘s most favorite places to grab a delicious meal on a Monday Tuesday Wednesday or really any day of the week. One of the most delightful surprises I received, was there vegan cheese for their pizza. Don’t be deceived in thinking that it is a pizza establishment, they provide all the necessities a patron would require two entrances taste buds and fill his belly, from burgers to chops to steaks to pizza, there are plenty of options. The thing I like most about the vegan cheese is its ability to melt. It blends nicely with their crust, which is an aerie crust almost Joey, and has a sweet tomato sauce and your choice of topping. Service has also been sublime on a consistent basis. If I were to offer one note of criticism, it would be the parking situation. Often times the parking lot is full… Which is fine… But it’s one of those weird parking lots where the spaces are like slanted and so you can only technically enter one way and then you can’t park both ways and then it’s kind of tight and then you have to do like a roundabout thing, I realize this is futile to discuss, but nevertheless, I guess I’m just saying I wish they made parking spaces that were straight versus the slanted kind, not necessarily that kitchen sinks are bad parking spaces, but if you’re gonna have the slanted spaces, I think there needs to be a little more space between each because if I were a heavier fellow, parentheses I’m 200 pounds, when I pull into the space it can be like I’m trying to slither out between two cars. Also there’s a street along the side of it which this is kind of like a particular Greenville thing, but I never know if I can park along the side of the street or if I’m gonna get towed and I guess it just comes from having lived in other cities where you will get towed pretty much no matter wherever you park, but it be nice to know if I will or will not get towed. And also on the note of parking and I don’t have a solution for this right by no means and being a complainer but when you’re driving down Lauren‘s kitchen sink is going to sneak up on you quick…...
Read moreI was excited to try this place as I had heard good things about it. I came with a friend to grab burgers after getting caught in a huge storm. It took a while to get our food on a Wednesday night despite not being busy. I ordered a burger rare, and the hash on recommendation of the waitress. The hash was completely over salted and inedible. The burger was completely raw, what I would describe as blue -- a thin layer of cooked burger briefly shown the pan and then the rest was a completely raw soft ground beef. I asked for it to be remade, the waitress asked me if I'd prefer medium, which she described as cooked with some pink in the middle. I said sure to keep things simple. It took so long to get the burger remade with an almost empty restaurant my friend was completely done his meal before I got mine. I appreciate them remaking it but the new burger was far past overdone, there was not one ounce of juice left in that meat it was almost white in the middle. Waitress asked me how it was, I politely said it was quite overdone but I'm hungry so I'm going to eat it anyways at this point. I showed her the inside of the burger to show that it was completely dry. She stood there awkwardly, didn't offer any sort of apology. She might have said "ok" and then just stood there for a full minute. The fries were quite good and the homemade pickles also, but for 15$ for a burger I don't think it's too much to get their meat timings right. If they don't have the basics down, I won't be back to try their more complex dishes. My friend enjoyed his food (also a burger) but he also felt the service was really weird. Disappointing food and awkward service when it could have...
Read moreMe and a friend ate here Friday night 1/17/25, as we had eaten here previously for lunch, which was great, but dinner was very lackluster. The service was great, ambiance great, no complaints there. It’s a beautiful restaurant. But the food fell flat.
First, my friend had an old fashioned that was supposed to have maple syrup in it, but he told me it tasted just like straight whiskey. He didn’t even drink half of it.
We shared the meatball appetizer, and the meatballs were served with grits. Nothing had flavor. The meatballs were just meatballs, and the grits were so flavorless it was kind of ridiculous. And there was 3 served to a dish, so $12 for 3 meatballs split between 2 people.
I got the bone in pork chop with sweet potato mash & veggie skillet for my entree, and it was also incredibly flavorless. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, however, but it had a simple sauce of apples on it, and somehow even the apples had no flavor. The sweet potato whip was bland, as were the veggies. I had to heavily salt everything for it to taste good.
My friend had the fried catfish with grits & fries, and he also said his dish was lacking flavor. I had a bite of the catfish and it just tasted like a bland fried white fish.
We had the rum soaked cake for dessert and at least we knew that was good. Absolutely delicious. I’d come back just for this cake tbh.
All in all, for $113, this dinner was not worth that kind of money. Kind of surprising as this restaurant has tons of 5 star reviews and maybe it was just a bad night? But every single dish lacking flavor is not worth that high of a price tag. Well come back for lunch but dinner is no longer on the...
