Awesome selection of meats at reasonable prices. I called and asked if they would sell 50 lbs of ground beef in one lb packages, packaged ready to freeze, and was told yes. I ordered it and was told it would be ready the next day. They brought out 50 lbs of 1 lb packages ground beef wrapped in shrink wrap on a piece of Styrofoam. There were air pockets all around it. It would have had freezer burn after a few days. When I said that it was not ready for the freezer, they said that they would fix it. But that it would take 30 minutes. When the brought it back out to me part of the packages had been taken out of the shrink wrap and wrapped in butchers paper and when they saw it was taking to long they wrapped the rest by just wrapping the shrink wrapped meat with butcher paper still leaving all the air on the package. I took it home and had to wrap it all myself to make sure it would not freezer burn. Also, all the did to get the one lb of ground beef was cut it off a larger roll of ground beef. had ordered a prime rib thru this market and confirmed with 2 store employees it would be available for Christmas. I was called today to be told that I was mistaken and that as a small business specialiIzing in meat when they say Prime rib (even when specified that I wanted that grade and 7 bones) it was my fault I wasn't clear enough. I was told the price had doubled. I asked to talk to the owner who wouldn't even listen to me and hung up on me for not understanding how two of his employees gave me wrong information. I was not asking for anything for free only that they honor the price two separate employees gave me after being very specific. I was yled at a d hung up on. Most people just buying hamburger there will likely never have an issue but those looking for knowledgeable and kind customer service should support a different business. You don’t go here for the cleanliness. You don’t go here for the prices. You don’t even go here for the bathroom because they don’t have one. You go here because a.) you live in groveland. Or b.) they have been here forever and they have soul. I used to come here all the time for snacks, drinks, cigarettes and white owl rolls. Now I don’t come here because I quit smoking and started dieting. But the staff is friendly as it gets and even if they aren’t exactly smiling you can get it out of them pretty easily.
