First Place Tattoos — Local services in Hackettstown

I called in advance and reserved a time slot for a twenty minute tattoo at 6:00pm. I enter the building confused and untreated, for it was the first time I'd ever been there. When one of their employees finally noticed me and asked me how they could help me, they were rude and short. It was my first time at your tattoo parlor and my first impression was already not to a good start.

My tattoo artist Evan came out twenty minutes late for my appointment and gave me a half fast handshake. It took him an additional ten to fifteen minutes to get my design on the tracing paper (why is that so hard not like he had to draw anything up). He then told me he was “going to set up his tools” twice before he actually went to set his supplies up and did not come back for an additional twenty minutes. Evan did not provide a welcoming environment. I felt uncomfortable and a burden to his poor time management. My tattoo was rushed and was not quality. My tattoo required no advanced tattoo art technique (shading, color, filling, etc), it was simply just tracing a sentence of letters (not even a complex fancy font). Some of the letters are not the same as the orginal design I gave him. When my half fast tattoo was complete, he rushed me to get out of his room and did not guide me to where I had to pay. Evan was not sure how to charge me for the tattoo either, which also showed me his unprofessionalism.

I decided to go with First Place Tattoos for my new tattoo after they came highly recommended by my horse vet and his wife (if I can't trust my horse vet, who can I trust). I went to their website and after carefully looking at each artist's portfolio, I decided to make an appointment with Kat. I stopped in one day and by luck, Kat was there. I spoke to her about what I envisioned and discussed options with her. Then I booked my appointment. During the time to my appointment, I did some serious soul searching of my visions for this tattoo. Originally I wanted to incorporate my 5 grandkids names into a tree of life. Upon my arrival for appointment I discussed incorporating not only the grandkids names, but my daughter and son's names, their spouses and my husband's and my name into it. Needless to say my tattoo grew in size. Kat worked on some ideas and showed me what she came up with. I chose one and my vision of the tree of life and our family became a reality. Kat did an amazing job. I could not be any happier. Now my family will be with me for eternity. I highly recommend First Place Tatoos.
