Gordon’s Grocery — Local services in Hagerstown

This small family grocery store didn't have many choices when we first visited, but we saw on their Facebook that they made lasagna, so we visited with an adventurous attitude. Unexpectedly, the humble lasagna was surprisingly delicious. The crab bread was a bit expensive, but maybe we should give it a try. When we visited for the second time, there were many seasonal vegetables and beautifully wrapped bouquets suitable for gifts. There were also many wines and imported cookies. Locally owned and operated. We moved into the neighborhood a year ago and my neighbor told us about this place. We met John, the owner, who said his family began the business 98 years ago! He was a sweet gentleman who even had some Swedish fish ready to go for my son (6).

They have a little bit of everything in the store. I purchased some aromatic hand soap and John ground some whole bean coffee for me, too....

We drove 50 minutes from Charles Town for our first time here today. Mr. Gordon and crew asked for our names and used our names the whole time we were shopping.
