Longmeadow Diner — Restaurant in Hagerstown

Went to this new diner at the old Friendly’s off Leitersburg Pike. Service was great. Since we’re a bit picky on coffee, we were offered a taste before we decided. It was decent, not watered down with a burnt taste which is typical at breakfast places. So we ordered a couple of cups. Food was also good! My partner had the regular breakfast with fried eggs over easy, ham and wheat toast. I had the eggs Benedict. Eggs were perfectly fried and poached. Too much Hollandaise (obviously from a mix, but to be expected) but otherwise all good. Hash browns were great and did not have the flavor of old, reused oil. Service from Timisha was friendly and efficient. Still working out kinks in their software - we weren’t charged for our coffee and the manager (?) who came to correct it appeared stressed as she adjusted our bill. Would definitely come back. Very disappointed. 1st time I came here to eat, I thought the food was delicious and the service was great. Very impressed. I told my son about it and he said he had a bad experience and would never go back. I thought he was wrong and went again. However, this time it was worse than I would have ever expected. We ordered take out and I was surprised how fast it was ready. When I came home I realized my husband received a burger on a bun with nothing else. He ordered a bacon burger with fries. I called them and the guy who took our order told me my husband didn't order fries which I know he did because I was right there when he ordered it. There was no bacon on the burger that was asked. In a time when local diner food in no way justifies the increased pricing that began in the pandemic years and continues even a few years later, Longmeadow Diner offers a refreshing alternative. When was the last time my husband and I enjoyed such an excellent lunch for well under $50….. well, it’s been quite a while. And how lovely it was to have a server who seemed to truly appreciate our business and who takes pride in her job! I am telling others about this gem although I probably shouldn’t! To be seated and served promptly is always a good thing!
