Edit June 2026: deli staff is much more consistent now and you can see the proof that the staff I see semi-regularly are well-trained on keeping areas clean and avoiding touching unclean surfaces.
Edit December 17th 2024: deli staff still aren't trained about cross contamination, using gloves to touch many surfaces inside and out of the deli area without changing gloves.
Edit August 25th: the store overall has been fairly consistent in the past 5 months but a common problem remains, they keep removing the staple products I get in a weekly basis, either due to manufacturers discontinuing the product or just to make space for another product that'll sell worse than the replaced one.
Added to review Jan 2: I did it to myself this time, this Martin's can have so many expired meat products and I seem to be a magnet for them. Make sure you check the dates and don't assume this store look for them.
May 28: over the course of three grocery trips in a row, I've brought home groceries find mold multiple times on various products. First was a bag of mandarin oranges that were fine in store but when I brought them home I found one that was entirely green with mold and rotten. Another is cherry tomatoes that looked fine in the store and brought it home to find mold all through the middle. Lastly (today) I find a Sandwhich roll dated for the 27th that I bought on the 26th that had to already have mold on it in store. I can't keep spending gas money to return products on a weekly basis.
3 star review: Plan on visiting during a weekday, weekends the deli usually gets orders mixed up or wrong. Mostly in stock of normal items but staples like cream cheese flavors are often out of stock. Produce is often...

Was doing self bagging and scanning while shopping to be able to check out very quickly with minimal interactions with potential sources of infection possible. However when I got to the checkout and scanned the barcode for my cart it wouldn't go through and said I had to see an associate. They couldn't clear the code off the app and then said they'd need to check me out at the little stand in that area. They then proceeded to rummage around on my two shopping bags and move things about, pull them out and scan one at a time and then shove them back in and go for next item etc. Whole point of me doing my own bagging and check out etc is to avoid unnecessary manhandling of the groceries. I was disgusted and told them to keep their groceries and would go shop again. Of course the cart on the app can't be removed now, not even deleting the data from phone so must be stored in the cloud. I didn't care, I paid for my groceries fresh and unhandled without the discount. I very nearly went to another store but came here, I am regretting that decision and am much less likely to shop here again.
Original review: Although selections can be a little skimpy at certain times due to all the shenanigans caused by covid, the staff and the store still remain professional and are doing their best to keep people safe and the...
Read moreMy whole family shops at Martins (North Pointe location Hagerstown). We ship there so much we sometimes end up going twice a day. The other day my daughter and I went shopping and we got a small cart of items. The lines were so long, there was only a lane open for 15 or less items. We had one item over the 15. The cashier Andrew, watched me put all of my items (16) up on the belt (he was helping another customer at the time, but I guess he counted my items. He proceeds to say to me in a rude loud tone, Does that look like 15 items or less!? I said it’s one item over, he proceeded to get an attitude. So, I removed all of my items. Then after I removed them to take to another line, he tells me I could have just left them!!!!!!! In all the years I’ve been shopping at this Martins I have never run across not one rude employee, everyone is so courteous and helpful. I’ve been a customer at this Martins for over 7 years. Andrew, was the rudest employee I have ever encountered. His attitude was horrible, it makes me want to tell my entire family to stop shopping there. We can just go to the dual highway Martins or the one over...
