Customer Service Entering the store yesterday for the first time with high aspirations of buying my first set of tools, dyes, and leather, I was greeted by a pleasant lady by the name of Pam. She spent over an hour with me helping me collect various items on a list I made. Cautious of being suckered into buying high dollar items, Pam recommended a variety of items that were inexpensive, middle of the road, and some more expensive items with sound reasons behind each purchase. For example, I picked up the most expensive of three hammers at which point she recommended the middle priced one and explained why. At one point, she pulled one tool out of the package and began to show me how to use it on scrap leather. I felt like I should have paid her for the all the quick tips. The Store Very basic looking. One notch above warehouse appearance. The store supplied everything on my list except some tools for cutting such as retractable knife and cutting board and ruler. However, they may have been there and Pam simply understood I would buy them at Home Depot or Loews. I can not comment on the leather quality due to my lack of experience but they seemed to be a good variety and there were some sales. The Florence Double Shoulder had to marks and the flesh size was smooth, not...
Read moreOn friday the 28th of nov 2014 I was treated very rudley on the phone by one of the employees of the hales corners WI tandy store.
I called in regards to the black friday item 71200-01. before I could finish my question the female employee snapped at me "in store only". Now I've been reading since the first grade and i'm not blind so I was well aware that is as in store only but this woman wouldn't even let me get my question out! she just kept on interrupting me with "in store only'
My question when i finally asked her to stop and listen to my question was if there were any left and if there was any chance of any being left on the next day since we were having freezing rain and snow in the madison wi area and I wasn't going to risk my life over leather.
She snottily replied that they "were already running out"
I understand that the store was busy but that is no excuse to be so snippy and rude to a long time customer.
I have never been treated so rudely on the phone and i am very disappointed that a employee of the Tandy company would be so unprofessional.
I don't think I will be placing any future order with your company due to being treated as if I can't read...
Read moreI have been a Tandy Leather customer at the store in Hales Corners for about 4 Years. I design leather jewelry and I really love going into the store. The staff is very knowledgeable and really try to help you with your project. They never tried to sell me things that I later discovered I didn't need. The leather is quality, even the scraps are great. They have a wide range of items related to leather and some to crafting in general. It's a nice place to learn a craft as well, the instructor Crissy and the rest are just great, patient and kind. I will continue to be a customer for...
