Dave's Ace — Local services in Hammond

One of my home's AC systems quit cooling on a Saturday in July. Basic troubleshooting/testing indicated the capacitor as a probable cause. A Google search turned up zero 50/5 - 440 V capacitors in stock near me and I couldn't get one from Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon, or an AC supply house until Monday. The Ace website showed one in Hammond (35 miles away). I called and the person that answered the phone verified that they had it and offered to hold it until I got there. Although I've never shopped at Dave's Ace Hardware before, when I walked in and mentioned I had called about a capacitor two different employees said "you're Kevin, right? We've got your part right here!" $27 and a 40 minute drive home and the AC is back in business. I couldn't be more pleased with the friendly and competent service I received today...

Dave's Ace is the place for all your home and business projects, you can count on Dave's for friendliness, respect, service from the owner Dave (and yes he's there and has been every time I have gone there except for the 1 time I know of recently he was under the weather I doubt you'llf ind the owners at Lowe's or Home Depot)as well the other individuals that make up the staff, Dave's carries an extensive selection and inventory of items, Dave's is always clean well lit uncluttered and the stock is organized , I am a good judge when it comes to the information I have supplied here due to the fact that I grew up in a Hardware store much like Dave's my family owned 1 for 38 years on Long Island NY, I highly recommend you give them a try you'll be glad you did! We had to run to grab a piece we needed for our RV and showed up to the store just before closing. There were 2 gentleman who eagerly approached us and asked if we needed help. They helped us find everything we needed and also did some problem solving with my husband on a faucet. Never did we feel rushed or like an inconvenience.
