Southerns — Restaurant in Hammond

Had a friend in the area tell me about this place, so I decided to give it a try. I want to give it high hopes, especially seeing that in the past year or so its changed restaurants three times. They kept the same interior design as the last place and the only update I feel they should make in the near future is just the drink machine. But there are plenty of seating on the inside and the tables aren't too close together. The menu is simple and easy to understand. As for the food, both the sweet prince and the southern queso were very good, but i felt they were a little light on the salt. The Adobo cracklins had the perfect crisp and texture to them. They were also very well seasoned. All in all, it is a great place to swing by for a lunch date or for a mid day break, but I'd use caution if you plan to go during your lunch break due to traffic as well as how...

Delighted to report how happy we were about everything in Southerns Hammond. Friendly, helpful employees. A huge thank you to Georgia helping us, she's wonderful. She helped us with selecting our food choices and choosing the appropriate Heat Level of the sauces offered.

Finally, a restaurant that serves more than just White Meat Tenders!! We absolutely loved getting what we have always wanted... big, juicy Dark Meat Chicken Burgers! Chicken Thighs, crispy and flavorful on the outside and oh so good on the inside!!

Clean and comfortable on the inside with a beautiful mural on one wall. A TV tuned in to a 🏈 football game on this Saturday evening. Southerns got nice and busy while we were there. Looking forward to returning. What will I try next? No problem... Georgia...

Oh lord where do I begin?! First, the man running the counter for the grand opening, STELLAR! What a cute personality on the friendliest man! He is so hyped about y’all’s chicken and now that I’ve had a bite I am also so hyped about your chicken! I ran into my buddy and he ordered the fried fish sandwich, he gave me a bite… PURE JOY! The super freakin spicy is the perfect level of hot, the pickles are house-made, I don’t know KNOW that but I can just tell 12/10, slaw is off the chain, phuket sauce and the seasoned fries make are a masterpiece. I have no constructive notes, all positive things to say! I’m so glad yall are in my town, I see pants with an elastic waistband in my future and more of me to love.
