Aguacates Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hammond

I conduct inspections for insurance companies. I have to look at the business and write a detailed report about what I see at the location. I had an inspection for Aguacates. I often tell my friends if I do not want to eat at a specific restaurant it is probably because I have gone through their kitchen and it was dirty and not up to standards. That was not the case with Aguacates. The building and area around building was in great shape. The interior of the restaurant was very pleasing and well kept. I met with the owner. She was very helpful and gave me a tour of the restaurant. In the kitchen I found the equipment in very good condition and clean. Floors were not greasy. I told the owner I think I have found my new Mexican restaurant for my wife and I. A few days later we decided to try it. We were greeted at the door by the hostess. Our waiter got our drink order. My beer was very cold. I enjoyed the chips and salsa. It is mild with a little kick. My wife ordered the Chicken fajitas. I ordered the Chicken Fiesta. Our food arrived and looked delicious. Was spectacle because thought it was going to be bad but I was so wrong. The food was so damn good the queso was real cheese not fake plastic like lacaretta's I got the trio fajitas with had so much meat on the plate steak was so tender perfectly seasoned no complaints at all. My boyfriend had the chimachqnga and burrito supreme and he enjoyed it as well. We ordered off the lunch menu and got enough to take home for dinner prices are unbeatable for the quality and quantity you get. I will never order from anywhere else again. The staff here are amazing! I have 2 autistic children who can be a little on the louder side so I'm always a little nervous about going to a new place. Instead of getting annoyed with the kids, the owners sent over their small child who's around the same age to play with them. The food is excellent. I had a medical issue that required me to avoid beef and the staff was very accommodating. The server double checked my meal infront of me at the table to make sure it was right.
