I have purchased several items at the emporium and felt the price was very fair. ($70 for a beautiful bronze, $35 for a milk can, $45 for an adorable side table, $15 for a cool bracelet) These aren't thrift store prices, but it's definitely not a thrift store - more like a museum that you can buy things from. The items are grouped by color family or style to make it easier to navigate. This place is huge and there is a lot of merchandise. It would be impossible to make it look like Macy's, because most everything is one of a kind, antique and vintage and a few new items with a vintage feel, but it's definitely not junky. Sometimes an area will be a bit topsy turvy, but that is when they are moving items around to fit in some new pieces of furniture and such. I'm not sure what's up with the baby carriage. I have seen plenty of people there with carriages and power wheelchairs and they seem to be fine. Also, the strip mall comment is confusing as this isn't in a strip mall in any form. It's a historical building in downtown Hanford, across from the Carnegie Museum. Maybe they meant someplace else....? I have only been going there for 4 months or so, but people tell me when it was under the previous management it was pretty junky - definitely not the case now. It's wonderful and the service is very genuinely helpful. I was there one when the owner took about 20 minutes going through jars and jars of old keys to find one that fit a desk a lady was buying. I'll keep buying there, and if others don't that's just more...

God forbid you are brown and want to explore the rooms of this place π me and my friend havenβt been here for a good while. they tend to switch up the themes of the rooms. we wanted to check it out just to pass time on a boring day but right when we came in three older women stared us down with unwelcoming looks. we payed no mind to it till once again these three women gave us repulsive looks when we finally went to the register to buy something. The cashier even had the audacity to say, βyou guys were in here for quite a whileβ in a manner as if that were something suspicious, when most people who come here usually love to take their time to explore as you can read in the other reviews..quite sad that they think thatβs okay! donβt be afraid to call them out on it if the same...
