Save A Lot — Local services in Hannibal

I arrived at just past 7pm and only had 50 min to shop. I made it and was done 15 min before 8pm. That's kinda my point with this post. Why is a grocery store on Broadway right in the center of town, closing at 8pm? There are several people including myself that don't get home from work till after 5pm and by the time I shower and catch up with my lady, it's too late to try and make it there and have time to really walk through and shop. Save-A-Lot has a lot of items I look for for a significantly less price than the other two grocery stores in town have, plus I don't have to maneuver through the crowd and then check myself out because only 1 cashier is working the tobacco line. I will admit you may run into that buddy you went to jail with 20 years ago or that woman that you woke up next to and snuck out on before she woke. It's already a dirty trashy store but to make it even worse, every single time I go there, when you walk up to the register you have to wait on the employee to get off their phone before they can ring you up. Today the guy that rang me up even kept getting on his phone while ringing me up. I had 2 items and it took way longer then it should have because he cudnt get off his phone. Then when u leave theres always the same fat sloppy woman sitting right outside the door smoking. Employees should not smoke right outside the exit.. nothing worse then having to walk through a cloud of smoke to exi a store. I will rather start driving across town for only a couple items then to step foot back in that ran down...

My local Save A Lot earns a 5 stars for their customer service. But....the prices now? Not so much. I learned that Corporate sets the prices, not a surprise. Prices? 2 stars. Healthy Food? 3 stars. Hate to push people to a store I don't always agree with but Wal-Mart has them beat hands down price wise. Hopefully Save A Lot corporate will realize during a recession (or like a recession) the lower prices win out. That times like these, shareholders should not be the focus, that their customers should be. We're loyal as long as you are too! I'll watch to see how it goes, but if they try to make a profit out of us being in a bind....I'll be done and spread the message...
