Palermo Pizza & Subs is a small locally-owned business operating in downtown Hannibal specializing in providing both Italian and Indian cuisine.
My first impression upon walking in was how clean and spacious it was. It was at that point that I decided to go ahead and dine in with my family.
We decided to order the deep dish pizza with some bread sticks. After a brief period of waiting, the nice lady brought out the bread sticks. It was straight out of the oven, and piping hot. Prying the bread apart being held by the garlic cheese was a welcomed problem. The flavor was fantastic.
Next comes the deep dish pizza. Who I suspect may have been the owner brought the pizza out to us. Upon opening the box was an amazing aroma. The grease was pooling near the center of the pizza on top of that hot cheese. Cutting into it was a challenge, but it was a good challenge. The reward was one of the best slices of deep dish I had ever had. It was flavorful and filling.
If you find yourself in the area of downtown Hannibal, finding yourself famished - I would highly recommend you stop by this establishment. The atmosphere is clean, the people are friendly, the food is delicious, and the...
Read moreNot sure how the food is the guy that was making the food kept telling the girl taking the order that he wasn't making this or that. He wasn't very nice to her at all.Tried to order a taco pizza and was told that it was going to take an hour to make. The store still had 2 hours left before they closed, calls were coming in for order of spaghetti and he told her to tell them he wasn't going to make it. During this time he was making pizzas with no gloves on. We then decided to go someplace else and when he heard that he finally cracked a smile because he wasn't when we were trying to order. We are All about helping the mom and pop stores but this place was very unprofessional, not sanitary, rude, turning away business and was making that poor girl tell everyone.I do believe that it was the owner of the business because the girl was asking him if he wanted to make the food. I would not recommend going...
Read moreWe were in Hannibal Missouri on a weekend camping trip & stumbled upon Palermo Pizza & Sub. Like other reviews we were not 100% sure about the looks of the outside of their building but man are we glad we stopped! We ordered a small antipasto salad & a Pan Five Meat Pizza. The antipasto salad was huge & more than enough for the 2 of us to share. Then the Pizza came out...it was done perfectly golden brown & smelled heavenly! The sauce & cheese & meat were wonderful but the crust was the shining star! It is hard yo get a thick crust pan Pizza done all the way so it is not doughy but Palermo has it figured out! The crust was crispy but not tough & I was able to cut it with a fork. If you are looking for a good pizza go somewhere else but if you are looking for a GREAT pizza stop at Palermo...
