From start to finish, this event is nothing short of phenomenal, whisking families away on a journey straight out of a storybook.
The Atmosphere – Stepping Into a Holiday Wonderland The attention to detail is incredible. As soon as you step onto the platform, you're greeted by cheerful staff in period costumes, and the train itself is festively decorated with twinkling lights and cozy touches. The ambiance is filled with holiday music and excitement, setting the scene for an unforgettable ride.
The Staff – Bringing the Story to Life The staff members deserve a standing ovation! They are fully committed to their roles, whether they’re train conductors, chefs, or the jolly man himself – Santa Claus! Every character is in costume, full of holiday spirit, and eager to make the experience magical for every child and adult onboard. Their energy is infectious, and you can tell they genuinely love being part of this magical journey.
Hot Chocolate and Cookies – A Delicious Touch One of the best parts of the experience has to be the hot chocolate and cookies served onboard, just like in the beloved book and film. Watching the chefs dance down the aisles, serving these treats with enthusiasm and charm, makes you feel like you've stepped right into the world of The Polar Express. And the treats are delicious – warm, rich, and the perfect accompaniment to the cozy winter atmosphere.
Interactive Storytelling – Bringing the Book to Life As the train glides through a scenic route, passengers are treated to a read-along of The Polar Express story, with the staff acting out scenes and inviting kids to join in. This interactive storytelling adds a special touch, allowing children to become part of the adventure. Watching their eyes light up as they recognize scenes and quotes from the book is absolutely priceless.
The Grand Finale – A Visit from Santa Claus! No holiday experience would be complete without Santa Claus, and The Polar Express delivers! Santa himself makes a grand entrance, visiting each car and giving every child their very own silver bell. It’s a touching moment and a beautiful keepsake for kids to remember the magical ride. Watching Santa interact with the children and hearing their wishes is a heartwarming end to an already unforgettable experience.

Read moreTotally love the show but not for the price I paid! Some things seemed very cheap and low budget. The actors were awesome and very friendly. I loved how they included the passengers in the show and showed so much energy. It made it so much more fun for the children. My 3 stars will only go towards the fun and friendly staff members. However, my first problem was the hot chocolate. I do not want to pay $400 for my family to drink cool (not even warm) watered down hot chocolate. Water is very cheap and there should be a better way to organize this to accommodate people with food allergies. Another disappointment is the part of the show when we were passing the North Pole. This is another part of the trip that appeared to look extremely cheap. The North Pole should look magical and vibrant and at least have snow on the ground even if it's fake snow but all I saw was a few dancers and very little Christmas lights on some buildings. I kept rolling my camera expecting more but was very disappointed to see the brief show of the North Pole. It could've had way more decorations. Last but not least, and this was the most upsetting to me. When I bought my tickets I paid for my family's seating to face each other and that is not what I got. Because of the seating arrangements that was stated on my tickets, I ended up sitting extremely too close to total strangers. That part was not fun because when I took photos of my family I was unable to take photos of the remainder of my party since they were on the opposite side of my seating arrangement. That left me totally disappointed and I don't expect to return to see this show again. It would have been totally worth it if these tickets were in the price range of $20 a piece but not for $56. Also forgot to mention I was charged $7 for parking that no one checked for. Unfortunately, I do not feel motivated to return again for...

All those phrases are just quick emotional associations that come to mind when we think of the fun experience we had on the Polar Express. It is one of the coolest things you could do with your kids during the holidays. Particularly, if the love trains and believe Santa. Although, we saw a few couples who made a romantic date of it as well.
I will suggest you read the book ahead of the trip, because it will enhance the immersion and relatability of the ride and skits that happen along the way. It is still a great experience even if you have not read the book ahead of time, so don't get hung up on that. Throughplput the ride they will read the book and enact parts of it. You will see the hobo visit the cabins and interact with passengers; likewise the severs with hot chocolate (complete with the song and dancing), of course the boy has to visit and most of all Santa makes a stop and offer the first gift of Christmas. There are opportunity for the kids to join in for some caroling and fun within the cabin. It is quite an exciting site when the train finally gets to the North Pole - elves, lights, reindeers and all the works. The only drawback for me was that we don't get to go out onto the city at the North Pole and the stop was quick. Given orbit the highlight destination it would have been nice to have a good 5 to 10 minutes to take it all in, regardless of whether we stayed on the train or are allowed to get off for a bit (which is not the case at the moment).
One last fun factor is that kids and grown ups all show up in pajamas! So, here's is a chance for you to bring out your inner child and enjoy the wonderment of Christmas...
