After a self inflicted box dye disaster, I went to two salons in hopes that they could fix my hot roots. Both salons failed at helping me, but Charles David was able to save my hair from this mess. I emailed the salon in an urgent state, and they were able to book my appointment within the following three days. The receptionist at Charles David was bubbly and kind, she helped set the stage for what I was about to experience in the salon. My stylist, Haley, listened to every tiny issue I had with my hair, and helped me achieve exactly what I wanted. Haley was very kind, and truly cared about my wants. She spent about three hours meticulously correcting and coloring my hair. Those hours can sometimes be filled with stress, especially after two failed salon attempts. But the atmosphere and people within Charles David helped calm these nerves. Haley was able to answer every question I threw her way. She also helped walk me through the post salon care needed for my new style. I walked out feeling amazing. However, I did have one tiny strand that I disliked. So, I emailed the salon with my concern, and they booked me the next day to fix it, free of charge. I am so pleased with the outcome, I have fallen in love with Charles David Salon! I had written off getting my hair colored after the previous salon fails, but I have regained my trust through Charles David. I highly recommend Charles David for their kind staff, positive and welcoming environment, and ability to effectively execute the wants and needs of...
Read moreMy daughter had her make up done for prom. The esthetician was very young which is fine but she admittedly had never done “dramatic” make up before only natural looking. She didn’t do anything my daughter asked for. She wanted Smokey eye and the woman did it anything but and then said she liked it better the way she did it. But no one asked her what she liked. If she couldn’t do it she should have just said so and not practiced on prom night. My daughter brought pics and everything. She has olive skin tones. The makeup artist didn’t even have palates that matched anything but a blond with light skin! She actually said she didn’t have darker colors. I can’t imagine what she does for black people? Anyway my daughter came home and wiped most of it off and did her make up herself. My take is if you can’t do what someone is asking for don’t fake it. If you don’t have the experience dont charge $85 for make up you aren’t capable of doing. Will NOT be going back to Charles David.
I guess this place doesn’t own their mistakes or disappointments. No one ever even replied to this review. I wonder why? There isn’t a person of color anywhere. Maybe that’s why? Can’t fix what you don’t see...
Read moreA few months ago I made an appointment at the salon as my usual stylist was unavailable and I needed my highlight dobe for an event.
The morning of my appointment (and day before my event), I was notified that my stylist called in sick. After a bunch of back and forth and being told there were no available appointment, I was able to sneak in to a slot where someone had canceled. I ended up loving my hair but the last minute canceled and rescheduling was stressful.
A few weeks ago I made another appointment, overlooking the cancelation drama because I was pleased with my hair in the end.
My appointment was for tomorrow, I received numerous confirmation emails and texts. A few hours ago, a call and text that "my stylist wasn't going to be in the salon". The receptionist was nice and helped me find another time, which I ultimately decided to cancel when I learned I could only get foils and not a cut and blow dry as well.
Am I just unlucky that the first and second times I've booked appointments with this salon my...
