North Hanover YMCA needs to be investigated!
We enrolled our son in their summer camp program and several times he's been picked up and no one has even bothered to ID any of us.
Having children out in heat over 92° for 8 hours + is child abuse/neglect.
Our son has been assaulted by another student, yet no one seems to have seen or heard anything.
Bullying and lack of supervision are serious concerns at the George St YMCA.
A bunch of children running around unsupervised all day in dangerous temps. There's absolutely ZERO structure.
The staff is made up of one grown man and a bunch of teens.
Someone threw dirt in his face, broke his rubiks cube and shoved him into a barrel. He's 8 years old with epilepsy and bradycardia. Which they're aware of.
All of this while he's outside for 8 hours while it's 96° outside. It's absurd! They're lining their pockets at $200 week. I can't be the only parent that has experienced our expressed concerns.
I've emailed the program director numerous times to address the concerns VIA EMAIL, but he keeps insisting a phone call. Please beware when enrolling your...

I feel obligated to add something here...after seeing people post a few negative reviews...as a retired Architect & Engineer...it takes a TON of time, energy, money and HARD WORK to run an expensive facility like this. It saddens me to read posts by people ranting about petty things. Yes,occasionally the whirlpool is down for repairs, things wear out and break. Next time instead of complaining maybe you should give a donation of your time or money vs. complain. I would be lost without the use of and access to this wonderful facility. I spent 4 years searching to find a new home that was near Codorus State Park, but ALSO moved into a new home just east of Hanover SPECIFICALLY to be close to this facility. I suggest those who post negative reviews about a wonderful facility like this would maybe learn to count your blessings, offer to volunteer your time, wipe up your own hairballs, or give an annual donation on TOP of your membership vs. sowing...
Read moreWent in this morning to ask a question and the lady at the desk was SUPER rude. She was helping someone so I was standing to the side waiting, and she yelled (aggressively) to sign in. I needed to ask a question so I tucked more to the side while she was helping someone. She then yelled again about signing in. She did this with an attitude. I understand signing in, but I'm not a member; I had a questions about memberships, day passes, etc. Which she would know when I asked when she was done helping the person she was with. She then looks over and goes "WHAT DO YOU NEED PEOPLE" with the nastiest tone. I had mentioned about one of my questions and her tone was just nasty and aggressive. I didn't even bother with my other questions. I'm definitely not getting a...
