This is my first stop grocery store and it saves me about half of my grocery budget. If buying produce, I stick to greens, vegetables, and a few of the fruits - like bananas, berries, apples, pears, and maybe oranges (around Christmas). I have found that many of the other fruits have lost any flavor at all. Just buy them elsewhere. Canned and other packaged goods are usually about half the price of the regular grocery store. The cheeses are amazing and a good buy here, not to mention a decent selection.I also buy my dried fruit and nuts, basic baking supplies, and basic household items. But I do have to finish my shopping elsewhere for items they do not carry- many of my personal care items, the cleaners I prefer to use in my home, anything outside a basic food item. They do have special items featured each month that are different, so sometimes I can find some gem of a surprise in there that is a special treat. Sometimes it is a meat like marinated butterflies lamb leg, or a gourmet pizza or BBQ sauce. The Hanover store is smaller than the York store and therefore has a slightly smaller selection. The staff are efficient and friendly. Just be prepared with a quarter for your cart. You will get it back when you return you cart. And either bring your own bags or buy bags at the store. You bag your own...
Read moreAsked the cashier if the parking lot was the responsibility of Aldi or another entity because there was a huge mound of broken glass in the handicap parking. The cashier asked over the intercom for help. We continued shopping and after check out the glass was still there. Tried to call the store but it hangs up. Tried to knock for management to no answer. An associate told us they couldn’t help if it was far out there I said it’s right outside in the handicap space and I asked ahead of time if this is an Aldi responsibility or the owner of the parking lot. All the associates were smug said they would get to it while I’m 9 months pregnant standing there with my child. The associate that said they’d take care of it hid in the office and when I asked another associate for a broom that I’d already tried to clean it myself and gotten cut the other associate came back out to say she wasn’t going to help me and no broom. I said if my tires get sliced it’s their liability and she said they wouldn’t get cut. I have never been treated so disgusting. Furthermore not a single advocate genuinely smiled. I’ll stick to Maryland locations...
Read moreMy first time shopping at Aldi and I was amazed at the prices are really cheap saved alot of money .but when I got to the checkout I thought the cashier was ringing my items with some one else's but realized after she gave me a dirty look like I had 3 heads as i said before that was the first time ever shopping there that being said the cashier was very rude and inconsiderate. I can describe her she was kind of heavy set and she had her hair up in a ponytail. When i was getting ready to leave she had a cart that she put my items in I had my own cart and thought since she put them in hers that was the one I was supposed to take she said to me very rudely that's my cart it stays at the register . People like that with a attitude should never work there so next time when and if I ever decide to work there she will be reported and hopefully they will fire her and replace her she needs to change her attitude especially when it comes...
