I usually don't do reviews, but lately HEB has been slacking. I order curbside and delivery because not only is it convenient but I also do not have transportation all the time. I have received products that have either been expired or will expire a day after I have gotten them. I ordered the family size ground meat about $20 and that meat was brown and smelled, I returned it. I order an herb and cheese mixture and heavy cream, both sour and expired. I've ordered turkey legs and those were not good at all. You know the smell poultry gives when it's gone bad, Yea not nice. I've ordered onions and when recurved stunk up my whole apartment, had to return those, today and a cpl days ago ordered a salad mixture and both were already going bad and had spots on them. So I can't blame one department because my issue has been with produce, meat market, and curbside. Curbside shoppers are not chosing quality items, if I can smell them from the bag, I'm sure they can tell them as well. Market for not checking meat and making sure products are fresh, and produce for the same reason, not checking products and making sure products are fresh. I'm tired of calling, and I'm tired of complaining and returning my products. Alot of these products are pricier compared to others and it is very upsetting. If i had a vehicle I would do my own shopping but sadly at this moment in time it is not an option. I believe if your going to offer delivery and curbside services than we should be able to trust that the products we are purchasing are being checked for quality as well. I don't like to complain and I usually just discard if I can not go and return but this is beginning to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreComing from Austin, my standards are high. I seem to prefer this store because it's not crowded, so the pharmacy line isn't wrapped around the corner like the one on Hwy 83. I can find healthier ingredients here, and for the most part the employees look very well groomed and in good spirits. Today, the bagger even took the initiative to unload my groceries, seeing that I'm uber pregnant. That was 5Star excite & delight above and beyond initiative, the way I was trained 25 yrs ago at Kroger. There were many male employees today w very clean haircuts, good work shoes, and I appreciate seeing the managers on the floor hustling. When I've been here at peek hours, the managers were opening checkout lines, as one should, making good calls about ushering folks into the 15items lane even if they had more. This reduces employee hrs and wasted resources.
My experience here has been a far cry better than some HEBs in Austin where young management have spoiled employees who can't even cope w lifting a finger in the self-checkout area. I'm sure if this location honors worker's wages to the same standard as in the big cities, they'll continue increasing revenue in the valley. I am seeing more people claiming to be from Austin in town. We're here because the real estate prices make more fiscal cents.
As long as they keep paying attention to providing healthier options, like organics, flax, real whole foods, global ethnic options, seeded watermelon, florals & soils- i'm sure this store will continue to do well for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTried to pump gas this morning when gas attended wouldn't let me pay for gas he wanted to lecture me on an issue with my car cause it dropped gas one time a few days before today and I explained to him my gas pump in my car spits it out sometimes he thought i said it was the gas pump from heb he said no it's not our pumps it's you car .. so had to go park and go into heb store to talk to someone so i could pay for gas! So unit director Sergio came and I said what happened he instructed me to just go outside and try again and I had to tell him how was i supposed to go pay for gas when the attendant wouldn't take my money to put gas so had to ask if he'd go with me cause me going alone would have same issue he said he felt like attend was doing to much but he seemed like my complaints to him was bother some by his face reaction when I was explaining issues this is my corner heb store hate that it's this hard just to pay for gas!with out getting lectured about my car issues!!
