My name is Maritza Monico, i am going for a Business Accounting Specialist at Southern Careers Institute. I like any other individual want to give my Children the best future; i wanted to prove my family and all the ones that talked down on me; and i wanted my life to change since my past was nothing but hatred, disappointments, negativity, and rejection. these new journey in my life with Southern Careers Institute has given me an opportunity to be able to fulfill dreams, goals, and success in my new life. Mr. Trevino, Mr. Rios, and Mr. Benavides are some of my instructors at SCI that have made a huge impact in my life, but let me tell you a little more about Mr. Trevino. I am grateful to have an instructor like Mr. Trevino not only did he take the time to understand my back ground he has mentally, and emotionally been there for me since the beginning to the end. I came in without knowing anything or where i was standing in life, but me enrolling to this school was a life changer. I didn’t know anything of welding not even the most minimum thing or term. But thanks to my Instructor Mr.Lopez i was able to learn all types of welding. It’s an amazing environment great teaching. The instructor will show you everything you need to learn IT IS UP TO YOU IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LEARN. Like my instructor says “ You get what you put in “ But trust me when i tell you it change my life i now have a career that it’s always going to be there for me the skills the knowledge. Mr.Lopez is the type of teacher that if you don’t understand the first time you can keep asking him to explain all the times you need until you get it i tell you from personal experience.

Tomorrow Friday I’m finishing my welding program and i should start working in the following week.

I enrolled in the HVAC program last October. During orientation, staff members from different introduced themselves and one thing I remember them preaching is communication but during my time there, communication on their part about events or programs or other important information was non-existent. Around Midway through my schooling staff members from career services coming into my class stating that they would help with the resume building process and our job searches. That’s was not the case at all, I got little to no help building my resume, as soon as I told Cynthia that I was working part time with a small A/C company, she had me sign an employment verification form and received absolutely no more assistance from careers services what so ever. I reached out several times about rescheduling my OSHA 10 certification and I kept getting the run around. HVAC instructors on the other were great. They always made themselves available to assist and answer...
