I am VERY dissatisfied I made a very sizable purchase from them in early 2022. I was told that I'd have to wait 6 months for all the pieces to come in and final payment would be due upon delivery of the last item. I put 30% down at time of order. Several pieces came in randomly and they delivery them after I gave an additional 30% payment. My loveseat arrived damaged and a new part has to be ordered. It took probably two months or maybe longer for the repair piece to come in. When they delivered my final part, I paid the final amount by check. That's where it gets horrible. They lost my check and tried to call several times because they hadn't received payment but they never left a message stating why they were calling. I then received a letter stating I owed the final payment. I wrote back and told them I paid it and they would not have left the furniture without final payment. After about 4 weeks, I received a registered letter stating that they would report me to the credit reporting as not paying and that I was causing a "distraction" in an attempt to avoid final payment. They are lucky I didn't drive up there as I was very upset about that comment. I did check my bank account and the check I wrote them never cleared the bank, so, they lost it!!! I demanded an apology in my letter for the degrading comment that the president of the company wrote. We'll, he did call and apologize. I sent another check and this one has cleared the bank. My advice is go anywhere else to purchase furniture. These people are rude, inefficient, poor communicators, and, in my opinion, the quality of there products is no better than what you can purchase at Big Lotts!!! I'll NEVER step foot into this...
Read moreSo frustrated with this store and their customer service. I purchased a sofa and a recliner from them with a lifetime warranty. They informed me a "lifetime" of these two pieces of furniture was 10 years, which seems fair. A few bolts have since fallen out of the chair, making it unstable and one of the cushions on the couch is flat...the couch also appears to be slightly sagging in the middle, but I can't tell if it is because the cushion is flat or if its actually sagging. I left a message at the store regarding these issues and no one ever contacted me. So I stopped by the store. They confirmed the warranty and said someone would need to come to my house to inspect the furniture to determine if the described damage was under warranty. They placed me on a "call" list to schedule the in house consultation. One week went by....no calls. I called again in follow-up. I was told I would be contacted over the weekend to schedule the in home consultation. Another week went by....I never received a call. This continued for 6 weeks straight. Every time I called I was informed someone would call me back and I never received a call. It has since been 3 months since I initiated this process and I STILL have not heard from anyone. Save your money and purchase furniture someone else. I bought a recliner from Grand Home Furnishings years before I purchased the pieces from House of Oak. It didn't come with a warranty, but is in WAY better condition....and it appears House of Oaks warranty means nothing to...
Read moreI ordered a table with 4 counter height chairs and 3 bar stools from House of Oak in October had to put a deposit down at that time too. I was told at the time that everything would be in 3 months later. I waited 4 months and called back and was informed it would be another month out which would be now February which I was OK with at that time. I waited until March called back was informed it would be no later than the middle of April so again I was like OK so lets just say 1st of May. Now its May and called back again today was told by the lady that answered the phone that I will be called when it comes in. Now I am furious at this point. I feel like they just don't care even when I told her my issue she did not care and said they would call me back. I have not received a phone call and will not use House Of Oak again. I understand things are now delayed and have waited for things at Grand Furniture however they delivered everything already. I have ordered furniture in January from Ashley Furniture and all that will be here May 12.
