Having seen posts on Instagram, we decided to stop in after dinner. We ordered a Banana split to bring home to our Mom, as it's her favorite. So we got it to go. We didn't open until we walked out, and we were very disappointed. $11 is kinda crazy for what we got. A banana cut in half, one scoop of vanilla, one scoop of chocolate and one scoops of strawberry. There was literally half a spoonful of pineapple, half of spoonful of strawberry and just a drizzle of fudge. No whipped cream, no cherries. Very disappointed to say the least. Cute shop. My son and I found this wonderful place as we sought peace and quiet in the middle of a Yard Goats game. The wait staff was friendly and explained the menu to me, and yes the prices made sense (especially considering close to all these huge venues that charge $$ for snacks!). I was so proud to be able to show my son that in Hartford, my hometown, he could be welcome and have a place to see other children. Ice cream and drink quality was solid. The banana foster frappe was delicious and my egg cream was satisfying. Seating and decor were nice. Customer service was disappointing. No real interaction with staff other than placing our order and handing over the card to pay. No “welcome” or “thank you for coming” or “hope you come back again.” It was the kind of uppity vibe like they were doing me a favor by serving us.
