Hands On Hartford — Local services in Hartford

I've been homeless for just over a year now, my husband and I have been eating there since last thanksgiving..we are super grateful for the hot meals we get, and we really love the new plan that is now called gather55. If we have the funds we will eat there daily! Also not to mention, they have a team that can help you get help. Mental help, housing, care packages, there's clinics that come there weekly to help the sick! This place turned around and has helped alot of people turn their life's around.

For myself, I am still sleeping in my car with my cats and husband, but with their help and my case managers help, I am on every housing list and I could get a call tomorrow and I'll have a HOME. I pray daily that the next day will be that day..I hope it comes before it snows!

Nice and clean a lot of space for different activities the food is good the prices are fair and staff is great I did some volunteer/community service at Hands on Hartford at the Bartholomew avenue location cleaning up the place they have a spacious kitchen with all the latest appliances ensuring you get a fresh tasteful food meal every time plus you are helping out the less fortunate when you make a purchase that so it's a win-win be sure to check them out...

The establishment is very clean, staff is friendly & tries to work with you if you are in need of help. My only complaint's is that if you leave a message, you rarely get a call back. I had to keep on top of that. Also, I was in need of some help & was told by head staff worker that everything was going to be taken care of by them & it wasn't. I was very disappointed as I was relying on that service. Otherwise, they are there...
