In December, I purchased a 5x5 storage unit online and obtained the unit number and a $15 lock from the office. Upon arriving at the storage unit at night, it was challenging to locate due to the presence of multiple buildings. When we finally found our unit, we discovered it couldn't be locked and was not intended for customer use at that time. Consequently, we had to relocate our items to a friend's place as it was the only night available for storage.
Upon requesting another storage unit, I was informed to visit the office again for the unit number. Frustrated with the situation, I opted to cancel the initially paid storage unit and sought a refund, requiring over 12 phone calls to ensure its processing. Despite assurances of callbacks, they often failed to follow through, adding to the overall frustration.
Additionally, efforts to obtain a refund for the lock were marred by miscommunication. Despite explaining that a refund to my school card was not feasible, the staff proceeded, resulting in no reimbursement. Subsequent attempts to secure a cash refund proved unproductive, with the reasoning for this limitation appearing unclear and illogical.
This entire experience was marked by unprofessionalism, from the challenges in securing a usable unit to the refund process. Despite multiple calls and attempts to address the issues through recommended channels, a satisfactory resolution was not achieved. She was very organized with keeping my account up to date with notes so that whenever I had more questions, we were able to pick up right where we left off, even if she wasn't the person to answer the phone. EJ was also super kind and thoughtful on the day I was moving, he was very calm and sweet during such a chaotic time for me. I was doing a lot of the moving on my own so it was very heartwarming when EJ would periodically come out in attempts to make the move easier for me by offering a cart for smoother transport of my belongings into my moving truck.
