I have NEVER written a negative review, but thanks to the 2 years I’ve spent with this practice, here we are. I’m sure they’re great with their ivf patients, as they should be, but if you are a low maintenance patient - run. It’s not worth the hassle or the headache. I pride myself on not being a difficult person to deal with, my husband works at a busy practice, I know how busy healthcare workers are, but dang these people are something else. 5 times over the course of the year I had to beg them to fulfill refill requests from my pharmacy. Literally the pharmacy would send request after request and then I would call and leave message after message. The last time I ended up calling the front desk and they put me on indefinite hold only to end up closing for the day. And mind you these are only refills for two basic but necessary meds. I never expected them to recheck my labs, have any concern for my condition, how I could optimize my health, nothing. Each time, if I was able to reach someone from the staff, they would swear up and down that they had sent the refill the problem was on the pharmacy’s end, four times, every time I needed a refill. They never asked me to come in again to recheck labs even when I expressed interest in it myself. **This review was sitting in my notes app for six months and here is the nail in its coffin. For the fifth time to date I had to call three times for a refill. Never got a call back until my third call. This was after hours because I had been without my medicine for two day and was leaving for a trip. I got a call back from dr. Wolf and she spoke to me so incredibly disrespectfully. She yelled at me accused me of being inconsiderate and not making a follow up appointment because she assumed that was why my refill request was not being fulfilled. I have never ever been spoken to that disrespectfully. I have never been spoken to by a medical professional in even a mildly upset tone, let alone being yelled at the way Dr. Wolf did, without asking me a single question about the circumstance in which I was calling. I am a model patient, I am incredibly respectful of healthcare staff and professionals because my own spouse is a busy physician himself. I cannot believe anyone could speak to another human the way Dr wolf spoke to me, let alone a physician to a patient. I have never felt cared for by a single person associated with practice, except for the one kind nurse that worked for their answering service. I’ve honestly never been so hurt or...
Read moreI am really pleased that we chose University Reproductive Associates. After seeing specialists and trying for years, we were told IVF was our only option. We had consultations with several clinics in NJ, and we chose URA as we were really impressed with the facility and the knowledge and time Dr. McGovern gave us. He laid out our options and explained the science behind it all. He was the only doctor that we saw that didn't immediately try and get us to sign up for IVF. He tried to find the easiest option to get me pregnant, and after two simple tests, we all decided that IVF would be our best option.
A quarter of the way into our IVF, Dr. McGovern and Eric, the head embryologist, uncovered a serious fertility issue with me that all other doctors had missed - and it was the reason we had been unsuccessful all of this time. He called me and we came in for an office visit where he compassionately laid out the issue (an issue that reduced my chances of conceiving significantly) and most importantly to me, he detailed the fresh plan of action - a new custom round of IVF (as they all are at URA.) I left that day with hope and confidence in my reproductive team.
It took us a few tries with tweaking of the drug and supplement regiment and a little out of the box thinking (Dr. McGovern had a theory, so we tried a procedure that is rarely done.) I'm delighted to share that he was right, and as I sit here I'm almost 28 weeks pregnant with a very healthy, genetically perfect baby boy :-)
If it wasn't for URA, I truly believe my pregnancy would not have happened. All of the doctors study each patient's file and monitor you almost daily during your cycles, looking for ways to improve your chances of conceiving. The level of care from both the doctors and nurses is unparalleled. They have several locations and I could walk to their Hoboken location for monitoring where I saw Dr. Wolf almost daily during my cycle. She answered my daily reel of questions and supported me fully.
Again, a huge thank-you to Dr. McGovern, his nurse Andrea Costanza, Eric & William in the embryo lab, Dr. Wolf and the entire team at University Reproductive Associates, you all have made our ultimate dream...
Read moreBeen meaning to write a review for this place, but have not had the time. Even after a year my rage is still strong enough to write a nasty review. I was an egg donor and this was my 3rd donation, but first experience with URA. These people, especially the coordinator, SImona, absolutely disgust me. My previous donations, from start to finish was about 1 month. With them the process took about 5 months with a good portion of that relentlesy getting multiple blood tests done while all having my IUD and being on birth control that they prescribed to me which gave me ungodly cramps. Simona, the coordinator at the time, had the audacity to talk behind my back saying I was unresponsive and she outright LIED when she dropped the ball at a critical stage.
These people probably cost the family probably double what it would have cost them because they kept messing up. I even sent an email to the head nurse with the following: "Just following up. I get that people make mistakes, but take ownership. Stop trying to blame me and be unprofessional by talking behind my back and saying I never pick up the phone which is untrue. Look at all my emails below and I have picked up over half the calls I have received! With over 50 emails and 14 calls, I think that’s pretty reasonable especially since there is a 2 hour difference so even if I get it, there’s no way of reaching anyone because you all are closed by 2:30PM my time.
As you can see from the below email, reference to the portal was Dec. 1. It is now April, you think after emailing and talking over phone and all the running around getting ultrasounds and bloodwork done five different times, someone is going to remember that this exists? "
The email included more detailed timelines os communication with screenshots, but the head nurse never followed up with me after that. To them it is a transaction and they probably just disregarded the incident as a one-time incident. I hope the family sues them for a refund of some of the extra costs that URA caused. If you are a working women, don't waste your time as they don't value you or the donors time and efforts. Absolute disgust with...
