Terrace Ave Deli — Restaurant in Hasbrouck Heights

Our family went to this little deli place near where we live, to get a quick mid afternoon meal / early dinner, and I was perfectly fine getting the usual hot sub with chips and can of Arizona tea, like what you get anywhere.

The place looks like an unassuming neighborhood deli. Clean interior, uncluttered layout.

Counter in front with Scratch off tickets display, a couple of fridges for cold drinks, a rack with assorted chips and snacks, TV monitors overhead showing sports or maybe news. Some tables and chairs.

This place is kinda different though.

Their food would not be out of place, served at a quiet sit down restaurant, with table linen and silverware and a waiter.

Steak and fries with chimichuri sauce. With garlic aioli and pico de gallo.

I think my wife ordered the Truffle smash burger with arugula and some special sauce.

It's legit restaurant quality.

But it's available at the neighborhood corner deli!

Edit: i normally don’t care about bad experiences and leave it alone but i ordered again and one of the items was completely wrong as i ordered steak & fries and got a tuna sandwich instead, and not only was there little hairs/fuzz all over the bread, but also inside the bread on the cheese and tuna. Changed to 2 stars because last couple times the food was amazing but this really turned me off...
