It is EXTREMELY rare for me to write a negative review of a business/restaurant/hotel... mainly because negative press sticks out so much more than positive and I just believe everyone should be given the benefit of the doubt and/or allowed a “bad day,” a “bad meal,” or even just a “bad mood”
But.
Today was the end of my patience with Ultimate Party in Hattiesburg. Time and time and time again I have been in and left feeling so irritated at how unbelievably RUDE the employees are. And this is NOT a new problem. Years ago the store was located closer to USM and even back then, the same was true.
The employees are ALWAYS rude. It’s so sad. But it’s so true. They act mad at the world. They act irritated if you ask questions or for assistance. It’s just the truth.
I have read positive reviews and I suppose there must be a few happy people who work there... but in all my years of visiting the store, I’ve certainly never encountered one.
The reason why this is true is blatantly apparent. They are the only true party store in the Hattiesburg area and they know it. They don’t HAVE to be nice because they know people have no choice but to come in.
If this were my business, I would be embarrassed and ashamed but also willing to MAKE WHATEVER CHANGES ARE NECESSARY to provide decent customer service.
Shame on the management for never making changes to remedy a LONG-TERM, ON-GOING problem. It doesn’t take ANY energy to be nice. In fact they say it takes way more energy to be rude and frown and be grumpy.
Hattiesburg’s only hope for having a fun, perky place to enjoy preparing for festive occasions is if a PARTY CITY moves in or if new ownership takes over and INSISTS on employees being KIND.
I hate writing this, but today was just the final straw. It’s not hard to be nice, Ultimate Party.
Dollar Tree is gaining more and more party items... maybe eventually they’ll be able to provide all we need for special occasion planning...
Please, Ultimate Party...
Read moreI’m only giving this a star because it won’t let me give ya’ll 0 and still write a review. Customer service was a solid 0. Only 2 employees at the registers and the line was backed all the way up to the door. Only 1 employee was on the floor and he was hiding the whole time unavailable for questions. I just needed to ask a question and had to wait in the line. I’ve worked customer service before and it’s obvious when somebody has nothing in their hand but their waiting in line that they’re trying to ask a question without being rude. As an employee it’s your job to read the room and adjust accordingly. The sad part is this was the best party store I’ve ever been to inventory wise. But as far as customer service, I’ll never come back in there just off the customer service.
It has been a week and my wife decided to go in this time since our daughter’s birthday is in the morning and once again they disappointed. If you look at the balloon half of it refused to inflate. Why you might ask? Because it’s FAULTY. Their is only 1 air valve and instead of pushing air all the way through it, it cut off halfway thru the “happy” from the happy birthday...
Read morePurchased balloons for a 50th birthday party. I was told how much a foil and 3 latex balloons would cost. I WAS NEVER TOLD that the latex would last only 8 hours until after they were blowed up. I later seen a sign that was laying so it could not be read. And of course you have to pay for the balloons before they blow them up and all sales are final. The lady blowing up the balloons was helpful and called and spoke to someone and he said I could get a refund. The lady at the register said well you're not saving that much cause you will still be charged for the helium. Not friendly at all. So I just said forget it, give me the balloons. Got in the truck with them headed home and 1 latex popped already. Very disappointed!!! Only reason I stopped there to get balloons was because dollar general and dollar tree didn't have...
