Jutamas is approached from a strip mall parking lot. The entrance opens into an immaculate up-to-date themed restaurant. We were immediately greeted and shown to our seats. All of the tables in the restaurant were decorated tastefully. Piano music played quietly. A single well-dressed waiter with similarly clad helper was all that was observed. Guests were spaced adequately and the waiter was attentive to all. This a new restaurant to us and we were willing to try. The fried wonton was the best. The accompanying sweet and sour dip made it even better. We had the Phad Kra Tiem and Phad Med Ma Moung for our main dishes. This was prefaced with soup which we did not confirm to be lemongrass but think it was. Everything was served on real dishes, with lots of hand carving of carrots and other veggies for a nice presentation. All was well cooked and appetizing. My wife cleaned her plate. I ate more than I thought given my rare foray into vegetables. I tried everything and I liked all. Clean, fresh, and good food. Recommended highly.

It is my first time being at this place. I loved the lightning and simple decor inside. The servers were friendly. The Chicken Satay appetizer was good. I loved the spiciness in Fried Chicken Rice and Spicy bamboo shoots. We asked the server if it was possible to write “Congratulations” on the dessert we ordered, and they did write it for us. But the only thing which wasn’t good was, they too a long- long time to bring out the dessert. It wasn’t just brought out late but was also cold. We had ordered Vanilla Fried Ice-cream and expected it to be warm and crispy but it didn’t turn out that way. I wish they didn’t add the extra toppings on the ice cream because that didn’t allow us to get the actual flavor of the dessert. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner night at this restaurant.

This was my second experience here! The first time was almost four years ago and it was amazing! I was craving Thai food and was in the area so I had to stop in! Service and Food was fast and friendly. All the food came out hot and fresh. Everything tasted great, just a little disappointed in the Gang-Phed Ped Yang curry (Roasted Duck Curry) it had a great taste but there were more vegetables than Duck in the curry. As you can see in the picture there was a thin slice of duck on top and another thin slice of duck on the bottom. For $19.95, I wasn’t expecting a small bowl of vegetable curry with two thin slices of duck. Overall, I did have a good experience just wasn’t satisfied nor felt like the portion price on the curry was worth it. Until next time I’m in the Hub City.

I have eaten at the Jutamas on Timothy Ln a few times and its always been great food and service. I've eaten at the Jutamas on 98 several times as well and while the food was good the service was SEVERLY lacking. A group of friends and myself went a few months ago and we were there for 3 hours just trying to get any service at all! Our waiter left in the middle of our dinner and I guess they didn't assign anyone to take over our table? It was 6 people and it took an hour and a half to get our food, half of which was wrong, and another hour and a half to get our bill. I decided it must have just been a bad night and waited a few weeks to try it again. The few times I had been since the service was neutral and that's fine by me. But today was my last visit. I placed a call in order and requested, and I quote, 'an obscene amount of lime' because I really like lime juice in my Tom yum. When I got there I double checked my order before leaving and there were no limes so I asked the server for 'basically a whole lime'. She went into the kitchen and I guess started cutting one up when I hear a woman (who was definitely not the server) going off about how ridiculous it was that I was asking for a whole lime and that they were so expensive (limes are 39 cents) and who did I think I was... I told the server when she came out to let whoever that was know I would have been happy to pay for the lime but that I wouldn't be back. Honestly, I know food service workers complain about customers and it's to be expected but at least be decent enough not to do it with your customer on the other side of the door. It bums me out because I really enjoy the drunken noodles with tofu but I have no interest in dining at an establishment that blantantly doesnt care about...

Please don’t place orders from the restaurant website. Apparently if your order is wrong because the restaurant failed to provide what you clearly ordered and is documented on your receipt it is not their responsibility. I clearly ordered a side of steamed rice and I didn’t receive it. I called to get a refund and was instructed to go to the website which is the website for the restaurant. This is not through a delivery service. I literally went and picked up my order. Typically I check my order but when it is sealed up it makes it challenging. All I wanted was a refund of the 2.25 for the side of rice. After being told there is nothing they can do for me I said fine, I will not do business with you anymore. It’s time for consumers to take a stand. If the restaurant can’t honor their mistake then why should we do business with them? Also, their website states contact the restaurant for any problems with your order but when you call the restaurant they say go to the website to request a refund and there is not an option to request a refund on the...

UPDATE: I finally decided to try my favorite noodles and spring rolls again after a long wait. I am happy to say that this was a much better experience and my meal was delicious!

Jutamas has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Hattiesburg. I go a few times a month usually. It pains me that it is not the same great restaurant I fell in love with. The last 4 times has not been great. One of my favorite dishes is the “Drunken Noodles”, but they have changed the recipe, or something is terribly off. It is bland, doesn’t have a ‘sauce’ anymore, just dry, gummy noodles. I crave that yummy sweet sauce that it used to have. The veggies in the dish did not look appetizing as well, they were charred and limp, when normally they cooked to perfection. The spring rolls I have gotten 3 times in a row have been BLACK inside, like all the veggies are old/rotted or been burned by cooking too long. I have reached out to the manager and have never received a call back. I am saddened by the drop in the food quality and I won’t be going back to the...
