ESF Camps Winter Headquarters — Local services in Haverford Township

I was very disappointed with ESF summer camp. We were moving to Bryn Mawr and I wanted my son to meet some 4th grade kids from Ithan Elementary before he started school there in September. I specifically asked the lady I spoke with on the phone if there were boys from 4th grade Ithan Elementary and she said yes. First day of camp my son came back home so sad. He said all the kids knew each other , either having been in the camp before, or most of them studied at Haverford school. He was alone for the whole day, the boys refused to include him in their card games. The counselors did not do anything to help him be with a group. Same thing happened the second day. I had to call on the third day and ask the counselers to make sure he was not alone and he was part of a group. I paid $600 for the week, and got absolutely NOTHING out of this camp. My son did not go after the third day, there was no partial refund. I would not suggest this camp to anyone who is NOT a student of haverford school, or a child of one of the elite families in the area, who already knows other kids there. I have 2 sons who are attending their second summer with ESF. They are excited to go to camp each morning, which makes a mom’s heart happy. Some mornings we struggle to get out the door but camp mornings they are ready! They say we can’t miss the spirit stick mom. From a parent perspective, I love the ease of drop off and pick up, the kindness of the counselors and coaches, and the overall atmosphere. Not only do my boys make friends, but I do too.
