Dr. Jaffee is not the doctor he used to be, nor is the practice. On Sunday, I discovered a pink welt on my leg with a lump and went to urgent care. They thought I might have been bitten by a tick, but I really haven't been outside. They gave me an antibiotic for Lyme's disease, a blood test for it and said to see my Dermatologist immediately. I started on the antibiotic on Sunday. On Monday, I got negative results on the blood test and and spent a lot of the day trying to get through to Dr. Jaffee 's office, finally leaving a message. When I heard nothing back, I drove to the office and asked to see the office manager. The office staff said she was on the phone and couldn't see me, but they went back to give her the message that I wanted to be scheduled, as I did not think it was a tick bite. I was told that Dr. Jaffee had told them that I should just finish the antibiotic and if I still had an issue when I was finished the antibiotic, to give them a call and they would see about fitting me into the schedule, not that I got that message until the next day. The next day, my leg was scarlet and purple, hot to the touch and extremely sore. I called my PCP, who actually cares about his patients, and he fit me in right away. As it turns out, I have a very infected abscess. He put me on a different antibiotic and probiotics, which are working. I will be looking for a new Dermatologist who has not lost his way or forgotten that he is supposed to be caring for patients. I’m a new patient and before I even arrived I was extremely frustrated and disappointed and ready to look elsewhere for care. It was quite literally impossible to get a hold of the havre de grace office and my multiple phone calls were passed back and forth to multiple people and placed on long holds all because I wanted to verify my referral was received before my scheduled appointment. The physician that referred me to this practice sent my referral to the havre de Grace location electronically weeks before and then again via fax and since I was never able to get a direct hold of the havre de Grace location I had to physically pick up my referral before my appointment at Tideway to be safe. Good thing I did because Tideway claimed to have never received it. As a new customer, this automatically made me feel as though the front desk was disorganized. The women at the front desk were short and impolite. This normally wouldn’t have bothered me but being that I was already frustrated with my experience leading up to the appointment I was looking for a redemptive experience.I’m not looking forward to any future communications I might have to make with this practice being that it doesn’t seem possible that I’ll be able to get a hold of anyone.

Dr. Nicole Bright was very cold, dry and standoffish. It looked like she was either tired or having a bad day. I didn’t feel she took my concerns seriously. I honestly came to this area only because my grandfather passed last week and I had to reschedule my last week appt with Dr. Patel.. which I might add is the BEST dermatologist I’ve ever had. Unfortunately she didn’t have any appts until April timeframe.

This doctor didn’t knock when she came in my room, barely introduced herself and Kylie didn’t either. I told her my concerns and it was very dry as if she didn’t want to be there, with Dr. Patel it’s a conversation and she explores many possibilities and I feel heard. This lady was not it nor Kylie. I had high hopes because the front desk ladies were AMAZING! But, nope I’ll never come back here again. It’s a shame I have to pay another co pay, as I was able to get an appt with Dr. Patel sooner due to a cancellation on her schedule.

I wouldn’t recommend this place and it’s closer to me than Towson, but I’d drive to good customer service and a doctor who hears my concerns and provides solutions.. this Dr was talking at me versus with me.
