Ok, to me, this is a great costco. However, the parking here is always an absolute nightmare! There is NEVER anyplace to freakin park! Also, I had a pretty hard time purchasing a larger item there recently. I bought a piece of furniture, it's a bookcase for my son, it's shaped like a Dinosaur and its quite large, stands about 5 ft tall and the the box it came in was very very heavy. The boxes were just stacked up so high it was impossible for me to reach the top one to put in my cart, so I had to seek out an employee. Well there was nobody on the floor so I ran up to the register area and asked a man who worked there if someone could get one of the book cases in the box down for me and just hold it up at the register or have me pay for it now or however they wanted to go about it. I also mentioned they had no listed price for the item either. So he advised me to just take a photo of the box and show it to the cashier when I was ready to check out and the cashier would just have me pay for it then, and have someone grab it while I was paying for all my stuff. So this is what I did. When I came up to checkout and the cashier started scanning my items I showed her the Pic of the box and told her I'd like to purchase this as well and can she have someone bring it down to me.. She was actually pretty rude, unfortunately. She looks at me like I'm speaking in tongues and asks me how she is supposed to charge me for an item when all I have is a picture of it.. to which I said, "Well.. the item number is right there on the box. See in this picture? .. so I'm pretty sure you put in the item number, and that will add said item to my receipt and charges!?" So.. she does this, and it works, yay. Next, she rings me out for that and the rest of my items and tells me to go wait over by this little cubicle area about 20 ft away, and someone will bring up the bookcase shortly. She also said I should have gone about the situation differently. She said people usually ask for help in bringing the item up here, so it's here when they want to pay for it! What could I say? I could have told her that I had asked and was told to go about it the way I did but she was so rude I didn't see how any response to her would do anything more than irritate me further. So I stand there waiting for someone to bring up this box for over 20 minutes! I had to go seek out a manager on my own and ask them to help me because I guess the cashier never bothered in asking anyone to grab the box for me at all! I spent $100 on this bookshelf, I love the bookshelf but was pretty amazed at how hard costco made me work to spend my money at...
Read moreBusy! BUsy!! BUSY!!!!! That's the word of the day for this Costco location! Having just moved to Las Vegas, this was my very first time experiencing this Costco location. Considering that I have been a member with this company for 9 years or something like that, I already knew what to expect. That said, I still wanted to write a review because each Costco location will be different than the other (in some capacity).
I'll begin by saying that I only gave them four stars, as opposed to five stars, simply because I did not have an opportunity to see what the restrooms looked like. If you have read any of my reviews in past times, then you would know that the restrooms are always big on my list of things to check. Since I did not see the restrooms, my score is solely based on my experience while in the store, the exterior of the store, the interior organization and cleanliness, and my interactions with Frankie!
I am pleased to say that--at least as far as those previously mentioned items areconcerned--I was not disappointed! Everything was neat and organized, as is always the case with Costco, and there was nothing out of order or misplaced. It was an interesting experience because of the outward decor of the establishment. Since I now am a resident of Las Vegas, I should expect to see palm trees and the like at all times. I didn't expect to see them at Costco, though. Lol...that's a small thing.
You'll see from my photos that there were staff and employees helping out with all aspects of the company. There were employees bringing in carts and directing traffic, and some of the same people swapping off and doing other jobs in the store. This is the magic of costco! I was lucky enough to catch a number of cells, including a sale on a Brita water picture!
The award for best customer service goes to Frankie! He was very attractive and easy on the eyes, of course; however, those attributes were not his strongest suit. I was dealing with a matter concerning a credit card and he was very patient and understanding, offering the best advice and help he could give. Bravo, sir! The rest of the staff were all friendly and kind as well.
As I mentioned in the beginning, this is a busy establishment. I was told by at least two or three members of their staff that they are one of the busiest locations in Las Vegas! Their super business does not detract from the wonderful experience I had last Saturday. Costco is wonderful on the whole! I have yet to have a poor experience with the company. With that, it's easy to see how I am confident I will visit this branch of the store again...
Read moreThis is an overall good place to frequent, and I have been shopping here as a member since 1998 when this location was diagonally across the street in their previous building. Costco has typical warehouse club pricing, great products and a good value overall for members who know how to properly shop at a warehouse club. The food selection, in particular their organic foods, are a great quality and value. The electronics are hit and miss, and can be a great value for savvy shoppers. I purchased a new gaming laptop here last fall, but some of their electronics can be a bit dated and not always as good a value as some may expect. Again, you need to be an informed shopper.
The big problem here, like most businesses, is the staff. About 25% of the staff in this store are EXCELLENT. The problem is about 75% of the staff is lousy. They range from indifferent to sarcastic and even borderline hostile. It has gotten so bad that I typically go out of my way not to ask employees in this store for help because my overall experience with the majority of them has been consistently negative over the years. I realize Costco is a warehouse club and not a Saks Fifth Avenue. And I also realize dealing with customers can also be a very difficult experience - just take a look at the customers lined up like ravenous wolves in the food area waiting for the roasted chicken to be served. But people working as frontline representatives for a business as large as Costco should be better trained and better managed. And the strangest thing is there is no consistency or pattern as to which employee you may have a good or bad experience with - I have met entry-level inventory stockers who are super helpful, and checkout clerks and customer service reps who are unfriendly, indifferent and/or completely miserable. The most amusing thing are the reps who they move from one department to another - this is typically good for cross-training employees, but not in this instance. One week you may interact with a friendly employee who is trying to sell or sign you up for a service as you enter or exit, and the next week that same employee may be working at the checkout and is completely indifferent or cranky toward you because it doesn't suit them to be friendly anymore. Again, I would still recommend this store as a place to shop and purchase decent products, but don't expect a pleasant customer service experience. At least not under it's current management and...
