vendor malls all across America have fallen to a new plague, and Finders Keepers is no exception. bulk-ordered dropshipped goods, worth a tenth of what they're priced at, infect a disappointing amount of booths here. sublimated tumblers and shirts made from low quality base products with even lower quality SVGs covers the shop in swathes. some merchants don't even bother removing the labels reading "made in China". many of the shirts are cheaply made from polyester that rips easily at the seams and don't absorb any sweat, leaving the wearer feeling as disgusting as the shirt itself. there are two separate booths consisting of temporary tattoos and socks, with almost identical stock and prices, seemingly owned by different people. even the more charming booths peddle stickers of stolen art that will fade quickly. cheap toys that break at any hint of rough play, leaving children disappointed and tearful; a feeling not uncommon from other customers. items still bearing dollar general tags take the space of what could have been something made with care, something that honors the efforts of local people.
maybe I'm the fool for expecting a flea market to still contain hard-to-find antiques and handmade goods. maybe customers expecting the cheap products to last them more than a year are the fools. or maybe there's something to be said about the people who rent these booths, see renters roll L-carts bearing Temu boxes cram their booths with no regard for presentation of their customers, and don't do...
Read moreLast time I visited this Flea Market in Henderson, KY was in the summer of 2019 under a different name. Back then, they had quite a variety of small to medium-sized stuff you can view at at generally good prices for the most part. I found old 33 RPM records, vintage cassette tapes & quite a few pretty cool household knick knacks I got there. However, back then, they had quite a few blank/empty spots near the rear of that flea market and wished more sellers or vendors would set up shop in that flea market in town. It's in a small shopping plaza in town. As I said earlier, I have not returned since the summer of 2019 due to moving out of Kentucky to be closer to family and work moved outside Kentucky too. But if I ever pass thru the Henderson area again and it's during the week, I'd most likely stop and check out their flea market...
Read moreWhat a junk place. I purchased a statue of Mary today and the lady took her and wrapped her in newspaper. When I got the statue home, her hands had came off. So I called and told them about it and they said they don’t do refunds or anything. Rather than do anything at all to fix the issue, that was just it. So I took the statue and brought it back and let them know I just won’t be back to their junkyard of a store if they have no policy to fix issues like that. The statue was fine when I picked her up and gave her to the lady and she wasn’t when I unwrapped her. There should have been a better option than just a loss of my money. But I believe momma Mary will handle that. She stands on the snake and kicks the enemy...
