3.5/5 stars - One Time Cleaning - $222
Pros: They did a neat job with what they did - cleaned the kitchen and bathroom pretty well and clean. There were still some stains and spots on the floor, stove and toilet but they may have been tough ones to get off. The cleaning was good overall. Quoted the cost ahead of time and charged for it. They did say that if they went overtime, they would first ask permission before proceeding and they did that (I declined) and they did not go overtime. They said that if they were not able to get stuff done within the 3 hours, then what they did will be what they did - it was communicated ahead of time. Appreciate the transparency. Arrived on time and with all supplies and the staff was nice.
Cons: I showed around the apartment when the cleaning person came in and asked them if they would be able to get all of it done in 3 hours - kitchen, bathroom, dusting and vacuum and they said yes. But they were only able to do the kitchen and the bathroom. If they were unsure of how much they would be able to accomplish, especially after observing the place and the amount of cleaning it takes, they could have abstained from telling me that they could get to everything and I would have prioritized the tasks in the beginning. They might argue that only after they started cleaning, they discovered that it was more tedious than originally imagined, but in that case, they could have abstained from telling that they could get to everything within the 3 hours. The cleaning person decided where they were going to start instead of asking me or letting me decide. Yes, I was going to use the bathroom - so they could not have gotten to it first, but I would have asked them to start with the dusting instead. It will be good if MaidPro suggests to the staff to ask clients where they would like to start and go with it instead of the staff deciding it, especially since the services are restricted by time so the client's priorities could be given preference. Cost of cleaning is by time and not by task. Even though this was communicated ahead of time, there is no way to hold the person accountable to efficient use of time. Even if they are well-intended and working hard, the possibility of going slow to charge more and to stretch the time for tasks makes it feel like you are not getting your bang for the buck. And you have to constantly watch your time and be anxious if they will be able to get through everything. I thought it would have taken an hour each for kitchen and bathroom and another hour for remaining tasks, but they could only get to the kitchen and the bathroom in 3 hours. I would give them the benefit of the doubt, but charging by time and not by task seems like that there is no way to hold the staff accountable to the efficiency of doing the tasks and the client may have to shell out more money.
For this last reason, I first scheduled with Brimin and Garman who both said that they charge by task and not time (and overall lesser cost quoted), but since they both cancelled/rescheduled at the last minute, I went with MaidPro. In sum, I was satisfied with the quality of cleaning that MaidPro did and would not mind using their services again, but with more realistic expectations of what could be accomplished for the time and cost. Yes, you folks may end up sharing your comments/responses below with your side of the story, but I hope you can also think about some of the suggestions made above. Thanks...
Read moreMaidPro came out last Thursday November 11th to clean out a rental house my family moved out of a month ago. I was quoted $465 (7 hour estimate) to clean the kitchen, living room, 1 bathroom, a screened porch and sweep out a basement. I had already cleaned the bedrooms. Three girls came to clean and were there 2.5 hours when I received a call from a manager saying the fridge had mold in it and would probably take them another hour to clean. (I cleaned it in 15 minutes) I said don't worry about the fridge and focus on the floors and other areas and agreed for them to stay to finish what we were expecting to have cleaned.
After they left I went over to the house and it was still gross.. I just wanted to cry. I was charged a total of $823.09. Some cabinets were cleaned out, others were not and obviously still had dust/dirt in them. All of the baseboards were still dirty, all the windowsill weren't wiped and had dust on them. I took pictures of everything and sent them to a manager. About an hour later she called me back and agreed things were not done properly and ensured me a different "Pro" would be out the next to finish what the other girls didn't do and that I would NOT be charged for it.
Another Pro did come out the next day and apologized noticing all the items that were not cleaned. I walked around with her and pointed out everything that was missed and I expected to get cleaned. I was in the building next to the house and had asked her to come get me when she was done so I could look it over. She just left. She did the windowsills and some cabinets, however the baseboards still need love, and other issues...tub, closet in kitchen...
I was charged for a fridge cleaning of $35 and an oven cleaning of $20, however they didn't clean either of those. I spoke with a manager again and explained that I didn't get the fridge and oven cleaned but was charged for it. I asked to be reimbursed. They ensured me they would take care of the issue and refund the money. Every time I call now they say that the person, Nicole Kambesis (the owner) is now taking care of our invoice and has "just left the office".
Today Nicole sent me ANOTHER invoice of $119.25 for "the extra build up in the home." For over $800 dollars I would expect the house to sparkle!!! ( Mind you the whole house is 1300 Sq Ft and they didn't even have to clean the bedrooms!) it did not sparkle.
I am irate! This company is a complete scam and a total waste of money. I expect to AT LEAST get reimbursed for the oven and fridge cleaning that never happened. Also they should stick to their word and not charge for the second day that a "Pro" came out to finish what the other girls didn't.
I highly recommend NEVER using this company. They are liars and steal from hard working families. They are...
Read moreI enlisted them to do a move in clean for our new home. We were moving here from out of state with 2 little kids so I explained that I wanted to house to be clean when we moved up and that we would not be home when they came to clean. They sold me some song and dance about their multi step cleaning process and their re clean guarantee. We were up the day before for our walk through but had to leave that day to go to a wedding. Long story short I don’t believe they ever cleaned anything. They billed me for 7 hours of service and when moving day came I was in disbelief. None of the fans in our bathrooms were dusted. There was a huge sticky spill in the kitchen that I noted on our walk through. The baseboards and window sills were dusty. The fridge was untouched. Multiple emails and pictures were sent explaining my dissatisfaction. At first they offered to reclean but by that point I had already had to re clean myself which is what I wanted to avoid. I told them I wanted a refund and I wanted a copy of the checklist they used to clean my home- because I still don’t think they cleaned anything. They used covid as an excuse as to why they couldn’t show me a copy of their checklist??? Over a month later they have stopped replying to my emails and I’m out $400. My house has never been re cleaned. Would NEVER recommend them. Terrible customer service and they are liars at what they promise. They took advantage of us knowing that we...
