I'm actually doing this on behalf of a friend who I went with to go shopping. Upon checking out we had a good conversation with the cashier who was super helpful and polite. Suddenly, when my friend had just completed the payment and we were about to leave, the manager (blonde hair, 5'4" white latina) rushed to the desk and told the cashier in Spanish that she needed my friend's receipt in order to verify my friend's payment and to make sure we weren't stealing. She took the receipt, wrote some information on a clipboard, asked the cashier (in Spanish) how many items were in the bag, and then gave them the receipt back. We were the only customers that they did this to during the 15 minutes I stood at the cash register watching other customers check out without incident while my friend went to look for additional items before checking out. The manager was rude, never looked up at us or even thought to professionally explain what she was doing and the cashier looked extremely embarrassed and could only gesture an apology to us without letting her manager know. I wish this was something I could make up but sadly Miami is filled with many of these types...
Read moreWell today, as I decide to go to Citi train for Fourth of July and go shopping as a regular customer I always come by myself, but today I came in with my kids and. My autistic son. Needed to use the restroom. I went to the employee and ask her can she gives me access to the restroom? She told me no customers are allowed to use the restroom and I ask her it was not for me. It was for my son she even denied access for him to. And I had to go out the store and go to another convenient shopping store to let my son use the restroom. I think this is overboard and ridiculous. I know my law and she needs to learn hers to. The Restroom Access Act, also known as Ally's Law, is legislation passed by several U.S. states that requires retail establishments that have toilet facilities for their employees to also allow customers to use the facilities if the customer has a medical condition requiring immediate...
