Cod Seafood — Restaurant in Hialeah

One of my go to fish markets that is also a restaurant. It is truly a hidden gem in the inner-city.

I usually come here during lunch because it is quick and tasty. They have great lunch specials. If you don't want a lunch special, you can pick out your fish and have them cook it for you right there! The lunch portions are filling. I am like a bottomless pit sometimes and this place filled me up.

I've never bought fresh fish from here so I can't comment on that service. The waiting staff was super nice and helped my coworkers and I the first time we went. After that we really didn't need their help and once they got to know us they already knew what we wanted.

My husband and I recently returned to Cod Seafood for the third time, having first visited in January during our vacation in Miami. The food was exceptional, our pardo and dogfish were incredibly fresh and expertly cooked. We paired the fish with a flavorful salsa criolla, and the tostones were simply delicious. We also shared the fish with lobster soup, which we absolutely loved, along with a fantastic fried calamari appetizer.

The atmosphere was inviting, and the friendly, welcoming servers enhanced our experience. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality offered. Food is ok. Service is fast because there's hardly anyone in there. If you eat inside your hair and clothes will smell like fish by the time you leave. The smell was so overwhelming, that I would not return. I guess if they had some kind of extractors this would not happen. Was there for a business meeting, otherwise would have never known of this place. As for the clientele, all the workers/truckers from the warehouses, the few that were there Didn't expect a seafood place to be in the middle of the warehouse district.
