Cool staff, dirty store. I was a regular that would visit weekly for water over a year, so trust me I know the conditions, I only spent money here on live stock when I first started my reef. They don’t have a display tank besides a huge ugly fish only one. And the little nano they always try to set up gets restarted every 2-3 months. It’s always full of the worst algae, super expensive too compared to the other shops in the area. Whenever I’ve asked the owner for help he’s lost, he also can’t identify super simple stuff. He doesn’t even know something common at all, I’ve asked about things and he just looks shocked and upset sometimes that I tell him stuff that’s opposite of what he think. He has an old method of reef keeping I guess, a boomer. His daughter I think works here, I ask her for help and she’s lost and she calls dad… legit if you want knowledge go on reef2reef or YouTube. Amaury is the smartest one there 100%. I feel like he can actually help way more efficiently. He won’t just tell “did you feed the corals?” When corals DONT NEED TO BE FED! If your coral is closed he thinks feeding it will make it happy. Only NPS care for that… I’m telling you dude really doesn’t know about new reefing stuff he’s stuck in the 90s-00s. They also charge more at store so if you’re planning to shop go check offer up, even though I don’t recommend it simply for the pricing. Sure you can get clowns or something be make sure to go to the store over and over again. It’s pretty common to walk in here and see multiple dead salt water fish in the tanks. They’re all on the same system so yea all those tanks become trash, honestly place is filthy and even the water hose for the water is filthy. I doubt he changes his filters on his rodi unit, I guess doing fresh water does him good. I see most good reviews are for that, it’s simpler for a store like this to take care of. They’re too lax when it comes to fish keeping and I’m surprised they get so much business. The store is big but feels empty because of some of those pointless tanks. They have a big like 75g bowl front full of the ugliest goldfish taking up space. That’s one of their “displays” I guess. They really can’t keep a healthy display it seems and it’s sad. Im just shocked after visiting other stores… didn’t expect this to be so DIRTY! Now I see why my dad wasn’t impressed when I brought him here. Why?...
Read moreIf I could give TEN stars I absolutely would! This is our one and only local aquarium store that we trust! There is no better way to describe Roly (owner) and his daughter Eileen than professional, helpful and two of the kindest people I’ve ever met! It never fails that whenever day we go in (very often) we are always welcomed with smiles and don’t get me started on the knowledge! My fiancé and I had ZERO idea of how to even begin the aquarium hobby, but with the help of Roly and Eileen we are at least amateur hobbyists. The amount that they both have taught us along this journey is nothing less than impressive and we are extremely grateful!!
I recommend this store to absolutely everyone! And if you are in the Hialeah/Miami Lakes area this should be your one and only go to place! They have everything from salt and fresh water to fill/refill your tanks, live sand, beautiful live rock, anemones, corals, and of course the must beautiful and exotic fish for fresh water and saltwater tanks! If you have very large tanks they can even provide maintenance services to help take that off your plate! To sum it up, they have, and do IT ALL! We could not be happier and more proud than to call this our neighborhood store!
Check them out and I assure you this review will live up to its...
Read moreService was good and shopping experience but my regular and I should say, slightly overpriced betta fish died within a month for unknown reasons. I've kept betta fish for years and have had them live 3+ years, even ones from petsmart, this was NOT due to personal error and I believe I got a fish that was sick with something. For 12$ I didn't mind supporting an independent business but you think they'd make sure they weren't selling sick fish. All and all, I wouldn't get another fish from them again but maybe this really was just bad luck and a bad fish. Just please make sure that the fish you are selling are free of anything. No hate to the business, just disappointed with what I ended up with. I'm sure others can and will have better luck. [edit October 6th regarding owner reply.] Never mentioned the price of your koi being bad. Just your standard bettas. No surprise to see this business take 0 blame for anything especially when you see the unprofessional replies to other bad reviews. I take back what I said about the customer service,...
