Market on Main — Local services in Hickory

This past weekend I had my daughter’s baby shower at Market On Main. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement . I paid roughly $500 for the outside patio and a buffet with chef’s choice with only request of chocolate covered strawberries( big mistake). I was charged per person and due to recent hurricane, only half of the individuals came (roughly 15 people attended).The food appeared to be items left over from recent events they’ve had. Two hours prior to the event, I was contacted by the owner and he was still asking about food choices because no menu had been put in place. I’m an easy going person so I just let it go and was hopeful that everything would turn out ok. Once the food was placed out where the guests could eat, we noticed the strawberries were dipped in some white mixture, but definitely wasn’t prepared in advance. Once our guests were finished eating, I asked for to go boxes due to most of the food being left over and we wanted to take it to family and friends who were affected by the hurricane. I was told that they don’t do to go boxes because they feed it to their staff once the event is over. So I guess I paid $500 to feed their staff as well. So...

We had my son and new daughter in law’s rehearsal dinner at Market on Main in a private room called Table. Let me just say the whole experience was amazing starting with planning it out with John and Ressa! I had searched and searched for the perfect place to host the dinner and got road blocks everywhere I looked! Not so with John! Every worry I had was immediately relieved! Anything I wanted was completely taken care of and not with a hefty add on charge! John even connected me with people he uses that are reasonably priced that could help me with things such as accommodations, florists, etc. And the food? Well let me just say it was amazing! We had the Caribbean Cookout with Crab dip as an appetizer! All of my guests seemed extremely impressed! The staff and bartenders were fantastic and so kind and professional! Last night I had a reservation at Market on Main and just let me tell you… it was an amazing experience. Our server Kyle was high class. The food came out quick, the people were great, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I highly recommend the MOM burger with truffle fries.
