If I could rate higher I'd give a 10/10 for the last 10 years!! I was so happy when we got a pet store in viewmont and this spot is the BEST pet store in the Hickory area!!

The staff are absolutely AMAZING! They care about the pets they bring in and they care for them at top standards. You will NEVER see an animal in need in this facility, only animals thriving and looking grest for their forever homes!!

They also care about the people and their pets who come to their locations. I've been a patron for years and I was casually complaining about my puppy being a complete jerk and they listened to me.. The staff sent me home with cards of several local dog trainers, ranging from obedience to specialized training.

I found the best trainer for my dog because Pet Supermarket staff care about their animals. They care enough to grab information from patrons who have businesses, that can help locals with their animals. They care for their animals on their property so immensely they bring in animals from adoption agencies and those animals find their forever homes there. The animals they stock always are healthy.

In a world of chewy and shops like Petco, Pets mart and Pet Supplies Plus who treat their animals like currency, go to a Pet Supermarket! You may spend a dollar an item more but you know those dollars are going towards the care of those animals and wonderful staff with positive interactions, that will help you with any need with a 10/10 customer...

Unfortunately I have to change my review from five stars to 1. Wednesday, December 18th that approximately 11 to 12ish a.m. I had a very bad experience with the on duty manager. 6 weeks ago, prior to this encounter with the manager my dog got sprayed by a skunk. I immediately took her to the groomer. The groomer didn't complain about the skunk smell. She actually encouraged me to bring her in there. And then every few days for the last several weeks I have came to this establishment to give her a bath and this is the first time I've ran into this lady. Had she told me that sprayed dogs wasn't allowed that would have been a little bit more acceptable, but she made it more personal by saying it gives her headaches and she can't stand the smell. I don't know anyone who likes the smell, but over the last several weeks no one else complained about it. Maybe because I spend a lot of money every time I've gone in there. Wow! This individual was fussing at me. I had a $93 ticket ( receipt) It didn't register with me until I sit in my truck and I started fuming when I realized just what a smart butt this individual was being. I nearly took my $93 worth of merchandise back inside but I decided I just didn't want to deal with her again and I won't be back. I can't remember her name but she had a black tattoo on her arm that was pretty large and appeared to just be all colored in like it was...

Last Tuesday, I decided to take in 2 new fish and went to Pet Supermarket because I knew they had an awesome selection. I picked out the fish's and took them home. I let them get acclimated and made the switch over to my tank that I had set up. Later this week, one of my new fish died. Since it hadn't been a week yet, I was under the impression that they would at least give me my money back or another fish. (I have other fish from here and recall being told there was a warranty BUT AT NO TIME, the specifications of the warranty) Today when I went to the store with my fish's body, I was told I need to go back home and bring back a sample of water for them to test. I live 25 minutes away, but thought they were just going to tell me what was wrong because I was genuinely upset. I come back to the store with my water sample from my aquarium and dead fish. They test my water and said my water was too hard for the fish, so they are unable to give me another OR give me my money back. I didnt even get my 15-dollar fish's body back. I assume I was dealing with the owner, and he just didn't want to fulfill the refund. Any other time my boyfriend and I went in there, it was always very nice women, but this guy just had a bad vibe about him. They definitely lost a valued couple customers today and I feel taken advantage of, seeing that the other 3 fish I have gotten from the store are still...
