Food Lion — Local services in Hickory

I use the Viewmont Food Lion To Go service literally 4+ times a week. I am always pleased with the groceries I receive, especially produce! Most places give you the squash that rolled off the truck, but I can always count on getting good, fresh produce every time. Especially when Andrea is shopping for my order!! She is extremely friendly and helpful, and always has a bright smile on her face when delivering groceries. Recently some of my items were forgotten at pickup, I called, spoke with Andrea - she was very apologetic, even though I had no problem coming back to get the remaining items --- Once I arrived, she brought the rest of my order out to my car AND a beautiful bouquet of flowers (that I had not ordered) but simply because she felt bad about me having to come back to the store. I haven't shopped in a regular grocery store for a long time because of prices. I've been going to this store in Viewmont because the big store didn't have the kind of ice cream that I get a craving for about once a year. I'm glad I had to go to this store and I started picking up a few items in my short trips. I got their savings card and found if you check their weekly specials along with using the card, prices are on par with the big store. There is a bonus though, sometimes you can find a really good price on certain items. I just saw jug of Tide that sales for $12.99 at the big store for $7.99, so I bought 2. If you want to spend a few minutes to seek bargains you can get a good deal on some stuff. If not, just get the card and look for special tags as you go through the store and you'll find some good deals also. Their store brands are...

This is my favorite grocery store. Fantastic selection and variety, coupled with good prices and great sales. It's like Goldilocks's "just right" in the grocery store category. The produce is always beautiful, the meats are plentiful and appealing, and the grocery and dairy sections are great. The employees are friendly, helpful, and generally seem happy to be there. I really like shopping here.

One difference after my most recent visit was the guy dust mopping the floor who paid absolutely no attention to the fact there were many customers in the store and actually seemed irritated there were people in his way. He was actually hot on my heels as I walked down an aisle. I felt like I couldn't stop for items I needed. He was the same just a few minutes later when he brought out the mopping machine.
