This will be my 3rd visit at this location in Temple Hills, MD and will be my last.
My 1st visit: I was thoroughly impressed. The salon was clean and spacious. The shampoo assistant was pleasant and attentive. She even provided me with “snacks” (bag of chips & a canned beverage). I knew I was going to add this into my hair routine. The stylist was vibrant and full of energy! She had a wonderful demeanor. I was in & out in under 2hrs! I got the Wash & Blow Out - Deep Conditioner - and ends trimmed. It was much needed after having my hair braided.
Total for the services was $75 and I left a tip. The price was a little steep so I took notice that they ran a “special” for Wash & Sets on Tuesday for $25 as detailed on the storefront window!
My 2nd visit: was on a Tuesday, however the special wasn’t $25 as advertised it was $35 (not bad - I wasn’t upset by the increase). I received the same level of service as I did with my 1st visit.
I was serviced by a different stylist - and I was also pleasantly pleased with the results. I knew I was not looking for a hair stylist - but I needed someone to service my natural hair in between the protective styles (wigs/ponytails/quick weaves/braids) at an affordable costs. Zoraida Dominican Salon was my hidden treasure.
And YES - I got my “snacks” again! FOOD is one of my love languages.
Total for the services was $35 and I left a tip. I was a very satisfied customer.
THIS WAS TOO GOOD - TOO GOOD!
My 3rd visit: RED FLAG: I was told immediately that the $35 SPECIAL on TUESDAY had increased to $45 (which is almost the cost of the service without the special). I was instantly contemplating if I should STAY or GO! I decided to stay. I used the time under the dryer to research the neighboring salon prices.
There is another salon within walking distance that offers the same $35 SPECIAL on MONDAY & TUESDAY!! So we know where I will be on my next salon visit. (review to follow)
BTW- no “snack” this time - only a beverage.
See ya...
Read moreDo not go here because you will be paying outrageous prices for minimal service. I came in fully washed and blow dried and wanted my 22” sew in curled up tightly. A young girl quoted me $60 until some loud mouth women came in and began on my hair. She curled only the tips of my hair and curled them too loose so I asked her to curl them tightly. She told me it would be $75. I told her the first young lady quoted me $60 and she rudely snatched the apron off of me and said she not doing it for $60 and then began screaming and yelling until she pressured the first young lady to say oh i meant $75. She said it was because I wanted them curled tight. I never in my 40+ years paid no $75 for some damn curls, especially when I came in fully washed and blow dried. I don’t care what response they try and leave below, the lady was loud, rude, obnoxious and unprofessional and this was an outrageous price for a minimal service so I kindly walked my self right out the door and went to the Dominican shop up the street where they charged me $60. Don’t believe no response they try to leave below because they just want to save face and justify them going back on their word and ripping people off. Tryna curl only the tips of my hair and charge...
Read moreOn my visit on 12/28/21 I was met with poor professionalism from the shampoo lady (don’t know her name, but she wears the Gucci frames.) She was rough and harsh on my head, and she didn’t make me feel comfortable at all. When I told her that she was being to rough with my hair, she spoke to me in an unprofessional tone in Spanish and gave me a look that could kill. I later requested that the stylist Maria take over. The shampoo lady continued to fuss in her native language as she appeared very upset towards my opposition of the rough treatment of my hair in front of other customers. I gave this review three stars because Maria the head stylist put me at ease and was very professional in how she handled the situation. Maria continued with properly detangling my hair, massaging my scalp, and provided amazing handling of my hair and style overall. The shampoo lady needs more training in customer service and washing / detangling different hair types. If I choose to come back Maria will be requested for shampooing and styling my hair from...
