Tequila Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Hillsborough Township

Tequila Bar & Grill has taken over the Restaurant/Bar in Favorites on 206 in Hillsborough. They have an extensive menu. Owner Neo is super friendly and exuberant. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Drinks were good (so I heard, I had a seltzer & lime 😉) As soon as we got seated out came the chips & salsa 😋 We had their version of a ceviche & Mexican street corn, sizzling skirt steak platter and strip steak. That was after going back & forth saying oh that sounds great, nope I would like this, em no I’ll have that. Every thing you read sounded better than the next! (I should have taken menu pix so I could remember the names of the dishes) Regardless we’ll be back. Neo told me that he’s turning the back room into a private party room, the atmosphere in here is great. They do still have betting when you walk in to the right, but it’s been separated completely, well except for races on the tv’s at the bar. Other TV’s had other sports on. Today The Tyrone Stackhouse Project were playing which is always a plus, the place was hopping. Great late afternoon lunch/early dinner. We’ll absolutely be back! I wanted to like this place but on two incidents there was something in my drink, first time I felt something in my tooth it was plastic I looked closely to my drink and there was so much plastic shards then second time I went I was alone but meeting my bf there he wasn’t there yet so I ordered a drink they took really long wasn’t busy then they left my drink where they make the drinks then after like 5 min they brought my drink as im drinking it I noticed a residue that was think at the bottom when I mixed it turned my drink cloudy not sure what it was I didn’t finish and left. Could of been nothing but 2 times I had something in my drink....

Went there yesterday for my daughter's birthday to eat with family and friends. I ordered a dish called El Viajero , came with chicken, steak , shrimp, rice,salad and tortillas. The steak was so thin and cooked to a crisp , same with the chicken and shrimp. Meats completely overcooked. Wife had the seafood soup. Part of the soup had a mix of seafood which you could tell came from a bag , which is already cooked before bagging , so when cooked again it turns into a soggy and mushy texture , salad doesn't come with dressing. Come on now , really..need to hire a cook that knows how food should...
