Long story (bear with me!)! My 7 year old daughter purchased a product from this business, with money that she had saved up. The product was a hair dying kit, containing four spray bottles of various colors. We attempted to use the bottles the night that she purchased them, however, 2 of the bottles did not work. I returned to the store the following morning with the two bottles that did not work requesting to exchange them for new bottles. There were still five boxes of this product on the shelf that morning. The lady at the register (Lindsay) informed me that she could not return the product unless I had all four bottles. My daughter could not find the receipt, however Lindsay ensured me that I could do an exchange if I came back with the entire product and told me the owner would be working later that day. I returned later that same day with my 7 year old and 2 other children. I brought all four bottles back, along with the original package. I went to the register and the man said to me "we don't sell this product, I can't exchange it." I ensured him that they do sell the product, that my daughter had purchased it the night before and I went to show him where the product was located in the store, and all the boxes were taken off the shelf! (There is no way that five hair dye kits were purchased in a six hour time frame, he clearly removed the product from the shelf). I told him that I had been in the store earlier that day and was told I could exchange it. He responded by saying "I know you were here earlier today and I am not returning this product". At this point, he is badgering me and other people in the store are watching. I told him that I wasn't interested in my money back but just wanted a new product or store credit for my daughter. He proceeded to rip a toy box out of my three year olds son and tell me that he is calling security to have me removed from the store. There were at least 15 people in the store at the time, all of which left right after the incident and made comments to me about how awful the man treated me. I was left with a product that doesn't work, but even worse, my 3 children upset because they thought the police were going to come after me. I could careless about the $15 for a silly hair product, but for a small business owner to treat a customer that way is astounding. I am all about supporting local businesses, but not at this store. Buyer beware...
Read moreI never ordinarily leave reviews but this encounter completely calls for one! The man that worked there the night we went in was absolutely terrible! He was the rudest most condescending person we had ever met. We were with our 2 kids and the store had about 10 people inside and the store clerk greets us and says "we close in 20 mintrs and credit card only no cash." Which was fine. My daughter was looking at a toy and then put it back on the shelf. My husband looks at it to try and talk her into wanting it and then proceeds to put it back on the shelf. It wouldnt stay upright and fell off the shelf twice. When my husband put it back on the shelf the sales clerk says "you break you buy" and my husband proceeds to tell him it wasnt broken. But he wasnt hearing any of it and kept repeating â you break you buyâ over and again while raising his voice. My husband nicely asks him to not make a scene and the man continues to raise his voice saying unprofessionally "YO MAN IM IUST SAYING YOU BREAK YOU BUY! IM NOT BEING HOSTILE!" Then when my husband says "I'll just pay for it even if its not broken because you are making a huge ordeal and making a scene over nothing!" He proceeds to yell to the whole store "IM NOT MAKING A SCENE AM I!!" WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE TO EVER EXIST! DO NOT STEP INTO THIS STORE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET INTO A CONFRONTATION WITH A RAGING ANGRY LUNATIC! Needless to say we paid for a non broken toy we didnt even want and left going elsewhere to buy toys! I suggest...
Read moreThis toys and games shop offers several unique and fun items at reasonable prices. The owners (or shop workers) were very friendly and not pushy at all.
The shop has some very cute hand puppets priced around $17 each. We stopped by after a bike ride and didn't have any money, otherwise, we would have bought one for our son. We ended up getting a Lamb Chop puppet from Hatley the next day even though it was more expensive ($22) since our 10-month old fell in love with it.
Toy stores typically strike me as cluttered and junky, and that is definitely not the case with this shop. The stocked items seem hand-picked. I recommend this shop if you are looking for a unique toy or game...
