The golf history at Links makes this unique restaurant/club house sought after and a designated go to for anyone into professional golf. It’s like a history lesson right here in Sea Pines. It is a beautiful classic building with a huge, inviting front porch. Long wide halls impeccably decorated. We recently purchased a condo in Sea Pines as a second home/investment property right across the street from Links by lighthouse point. We looked for a close restaurant and on Resy it said they were full. I called over and they said they could take our reservation of 3 right away.
The dining room over looks the 1st and 18th hole I believe. They have indoor and outdoor dining and it has a very upscale but inviting decor. We had a lovely indoor window spot. Two of us started with the French onion soup and one with the deep friend Lobster appetizer. The French onion was slow cooked and succulent. Onions caramelized beautifully. Buttery croutons sat atop the broth with a perfectly melted Cheese. Absolutely done to perfection. The lobster tail was crisp and delicious. It’s small so just a little taste of fresh lobster at $20. I ordered the burrata and prosciutto salad. It was fresh with a balsamic drizzle. The surprise element was the peach preserves on this dish alongside the fresh buttered toast. I’ll be searching for this preserves on property as it is the most unique I’ve tried and elevates this already delicious salad. We ordered a filet and skirt steak, both were cooked to desired levels and succulent. They ordered a bordelaise sauce out of the 4 choices and whipped potatoes. The surprise if the night was while ordering our Cabernet. We were curious about the wine bottled by Sea Pines. We asked our very attentive server Rico. He recommended trying this and we compared it against a more expensive wine. He did not choose the higher priced one based on his experience. We tried it and it was the shock of my restaurant and wine experience. At $45 this Cabernet Sauvignon was phenomenal with full flavor, blackberry richness and delicious dry even finish. I will be looking to purchase this wine and bringing it back home with me! He sent the wine sommelier to us and we had a delightful chat with David. Some people are so passionate about their journey as he clearly was and he told us about the journey in finding an affordable wine and harvesting it for the Sea Pines plus his story to become a sommelier. He and Rico were very personably, and they represent Links and Sea Pines well. Good food is important but good people like David and Rico are the gem in the restaurant business. I would recommend this restaurant any day and suggest you visit these two gentleman. We...
Read moreIt was my last night in Hilton Head so I knew I wanted to have a great meal with a drink! I decided to come here with an open mind not knowing what awaited me. When I first drove up to enter the resort, I wasn't aware there was a cash entry fee just to enter the resort! Had I known this in advance, I would have made sure to have cash in my wallet. I quickly found an ATM nearby and came back to enter. As it was nighttime, it was pitch black with minimal lights so I made sure to drive slow. I didn't realize the property was this big and it was a nice adventure up to the restaurant! It was a pleasant drive and I quite enjoyed it. Upon arriving outside the restaurant, you're taken aback by the properties itself which was beautiful and statuesque. I went up the stairs and then proceeded to the restaurant and sat at the bar. The staff was super professional and they pulled out the chair and helped me get closer to the bar, which was nice! I decided to sit at the end of the bar, which was a smart choice as the night progressed. The restaurant is quite enchanting inside with tons of seating and you could tell the entire experience is all about the customer, which I can appreciate.
I ordered an old fashioned to start, which was excellent! They even used fresh nutmeg, which is what really brought that whole drink together. After hearing the specials and reading through the menu, I decided on oysters, a wedge salad and the Scottish smoked salmon. The oysters were great and all 3 sauces it came with complimented them well. I found the wedge salad to be bland and felt it needed more seasoning. Although I asked for fresh cracked black pepper, that still didn't bring that dish together for me. Now, I asked for my salmon to be cooked medium rare, which was perfect! The mashed potatoes had this silky smooth texture and texture wise, were some of the best mashed potatoes I've had. However, that dish was lacking some serious salt and flavor for me! Had that seasoning been added, this would have been a magnificent dish. Aside from the lack of salt and seasoning on my dishes, the food was still very good. While at the bar, I ended up conversing with the staff, who were not only attentive, but engaging and made sure that my experience there was extraordinary. For me, they made my night and I will definitely be returning in the future. All I can say is this is a restaurant you should come visit and you will not be disappointed with the...
Read moreI will start by saying I read lots of reviews, and the menu before choosing this experience. We've been very selective on our dining our experiences since Covid. I chose this bc they had outdoor seating. Arrived for 10 am res and was told we would have to wait until noon for an outdoor table. 1 table had guests there were at least 6-8 other empty tables. Reluctantly we decided to dine in. Our server Steve, missed his calling as a used car sales person. I asked about the Bloody Mary and was given an in depth explanation as to the origins of the mix and the mixer-- which was totally fine. I appreciate someone that has knowledge of what they serve. I then asked if the crab cakes had breading and I was informed no and that Marylanders swear by their crab cakes etc. I ordered French onion soup and requested the bread left out. The soup arrived with bread in it. My husband ordered an omelette that came with toast of which he requested wheat. Toast never came out (didn't push bc we didn't really want it anyway) my son ordered pancakes, sausage, and 2 eggs over medium. 1 egg was sent out. Steve brought the check as we were still eating and never asked if we wanted anything else. I had intended to order more food but it was clear we were being dismissed. We asked for a box for the remainder of my sons pancakes and syrup to go. Steve never brought syrup back. Andres came to our table and asked if he could remove our used plates and my husband asked if he could get us a packet of syrup. Steve had since been seated a table outside and had invested himself in them. My 7 y o son noticed him walking back and forth several times and said "why isn't he bringing us syrup?" We could have had a much nicer experience with a different server; no doubt. But we were still off put by the fact that when we left, there were still at least 6 empty tables outside. We won't be back. The food was decent .. the crab cake was literally just crab-- nothing to set it apart from any others I've eaten-- I will take that any day over something that's primarily breading. If we would have been greeted and served with people that had any customer service skills whatsoever like Andres whom we only interacted with briefly at the end we likely would return. Our order was simple and straightforward and they all were not executed as requested-- and they weren't busy. Hard to...
