My guest said the Crazy Crab had been a family tradition for years and wanted to have dinner one night while visiting with her daughter. We had early reservations with a five and a half year old, and all god with me, because she is a sweetheart.

We were seated upon arrival, server stopped by about 10 seconds later with menus. She left, returned 30 seconds later, are you ready to order? We would like to order drinks first, and need a couple of minutes to look at the menu. I have celiac and am gluten free, so must be very careful. Server walks away, returns about 60 seconds later, are you ready to order or do you have any questions? We need a little time with the menu and should be ready to order when the drinks are delivered. About 60 seconds, back with the drinks, are you ready to order? I understand full well the restaurant business is all about flipping tables, but what the xxxx.

It feels as though we have been sitting at the table for an hour, yet less than five minutes.

I ordered the shrimp cocktail. Really had no taste without the cocktail sauce. Not sure if the shrimp is already prepared or what, but no flavor. My guest ordered calamari for her and her daughter. She was not impressed and apologized for asking to have dinner here. Not a big deal and just started.

For dinner, we selected grilled seafood platter/plate, not sure, gluten free seafood pot, and chicken fingers. The chicken fingers garnered and approval, the grilled seafood platter was average, based on information provided. The seafood pot looks good in the picture, but how many times have you heard something similar at work; it looks good on paper. The seafood pot was medium at best.

We ordered the crab cakes, she crab soup, and calamari, and every single dish was a hit. The crab cakes were packed with lump crab meat, lightly seasoned, and seared just right—crispy on the outside and tender inside. The she crab soup was rich, creamy, and full of flavor, easily one of the best I’ve had. The calamari was perfectly fried—crispy without being greasy—and came with a flavorful dipping sauce that complemented it perfectly.

Beyond the food, the location itself is part of the experience. Sitting right in Harbour Town, The Crazy Crab offers a beautiful setting with views of the marina, making it a great spot to unwind after exploring the area.
