Lovely shopping area, boutiques, restaurants, all upscale. An excellent farmers market on Tuesdays starting at 10 a.m. has great seafood and produce from Spanish Wells Seafood on the island, wonderful vendors with one of a kind creations, soaps, stationery, a really nice market in a beautiful area. If you're not staying in Sea Pines, you will have to pay $6 entry fee at the gate to this part of Hilton Head Island. I hear that you will get that back if you eat at a restaurant in the Sea Pines area. If you're visiting, spend the day on this part of the island. It's beautiful with bike trails, golf, more shopping and eating in Harbor Town, and the South Beach Marina with shopping, fast food, and restaurants, including the Salty Dog. There are historic sites, and natural preservation areas to visit, too. Definitely...
Read moreInside Sea Pines this shopping center is an interesting mix of art galleries, retail establishments, offices, and food service - all well respected and established in the community. The liquor store on the corner just down from Giuseppe's is a bonus - they have a little of everything. On the other end is the post office, a GREAT ice cream snack place, the Lowcountry Market and bike rentals. Also present is what is probably the best stocked Little Loaning Library anywhere. Come by on a first thursday from 4 to 7 and see the Art Show of great local talent - it's worth the trip. Some of the vendors will even give you a $10 discount if you buy a certain amount of their items. I know Full Spectrum Studio will, I kinda know THAT crowd...

Apparently you can't take bikes in if you're not staying in Sea pines, which I feel should be better advertised since this is one of the primary modes of transportation on the island. Also, one of the purposes of a farmers market is to provide fresh local produce to nearby areas, cutting down on carbon and promoting food access. The organizers of the farmers market should work to remove barriers for entry during farmers market hours or not publicly advertise the sea pines market to audiences...
