I could not begin to explain the happiness and excitement that I felt when I got to have my son's 16th birthday party here. I would like to start off first by saying that I am not a last minute individual and that I had a plan for my child's birthday party already in place six months prior to having his party here. The weather changed all of our plans within less than a week. I admit I was a bit frantic at first trying to find a location that could house all of those who planned to be in attendance as well as remain within the budget that I had set. As I searched the internet for a place to do just that, I came across the party packages at EVO. I immediately reached out to Melissa at the location to figure out what it is that I could do since I was planning this party for 6 days out. She immediately put me into contact with Claretta. Is Claretta is the coordinator and she is amazing. She immediately began working on my request because she knew she was going out of town before my party was to be had and wanted all of it to be completed prior to leaving. This didn't really leave her much time. In fact it only left her three days to complete everything on her end. When we got to the location we found our room ready to go. I had balloons made for his party that was supposed to be originally dropped off at my house the day before the party but ended up having to be dropped off the day before to the actual location. They were super accommodating. When I arrived at the location my room was ready to go and completely easy to set up. The room was clean, the area was easy to find and my party host Mariyah was amazing. She tried her hardest to help us set up but in my family there are so many that come to help but she actually wasn't needed. She brought all of the food out in a timely manner. The food was delicious and hot and exactly as ordered. She greeted me with a run down of how the timeline usually works and what we could expect which was wonderful as I had never thrown a birthday party here before nor attended one. She constantly kept our drinks refilled and if I needed anything she was easily located and visible. That means a lot because many times you can find that your party host will go missing and not be available to you. When Michael came by to assess how everything had gone for us during the party I relayed all of this information to him as well because I was so astounded by the amazing time we had. Once everything was complete, Jo came by to help me finish off any last minute payments that were required. She was professional, respectful and so wonderful to deal with. My son enjoyed every bit of the time that he spent and the attorney is the absolute most important thing ever when throwing his birthday party. I cannot thank you all enough for what you have done for my son who is my everything and his happiness the joy I live for. We will definitely be back in...
Read moreI really like theater so far. They have nice seating. Hopefully guests will take care of the seats in the theater. The food is okay with the exception of the pizza. They have to work on that a bit. The wings are pretty good especially the barbeque flavor. I like that they have many things for you to do (i.e. bowling, games, drinks etc.) you can do a variety of other things besides watch a movie. The atmosphere is really nice. The workers that we have encountered on the several visits we've visited were friendly. They even have a nice outside area with games. I don't think that will last though, because we have seen people leave things a mess or seem to be a bit reckless with the games. It's a shame too, because I like the concept.
I deducted 1 star though, because this past Sunday my daughter and I went to see Queen and Slim (very good movie btw). I usually purchase my tickets inside at the kiosk. However, I wasn't sure how to get my Showbiz points with my card and the worker I asked wasn't sure either, so he directed me to purchase outside at the window. When the young man showed what seats were available the ENTIRE CENTER section showed unavailable. It only gave you the option to choose the ends seats or the lower seats directly under the screen. I thought this was odd, because we were almost a hour early. Nevertheless I purchased the tickets anyway.
When we entered the movie we were like the 3rd set of viewers. The vast majority of center seats suprisingly were empty. In fact there were only 4 people sitting in seats. There were only 6 of us in there my daughter and I made 5&6. There was a couple sitting up top in the center on the last row and 1 other couple 2 kids who were just seat hopping. I looked at the time and said maybe they are running late. The movie started eventually, but the seats were still empty. As the late comers straggled in, everyone seem to going to the end seats and in the end there were only like 3 to 4 people sitting in the center. Basically, the entire center section was not filled like the screen showed.
I don't know if that was glitch, but I couldn't understand why it showed those seats were not available when they were. Next time, I will get my tickets at the kiosk and worry about the...
Read moreWe purchased our tickets ahead of time which was an awesome experience. We showed our QR code sent to our email and the employee handed us our tickets and told us our theater number. We bought a large popcorn and 2 sodas for under $23 which was a bit pricey but I appreciated the combo option. The quality of the movie was pretty great and the reclining seats were comfy. We had the theater to ourselves which was very nice!
When we entered theater 2 and found leftover nachos from the previous movie-viewers, we were thankful the trash wasn't in one of our seats. We found our seats we picked out a few days ago and waited for the movie to start. Before the movie started, I needed to use the restroom. The bathroom needed some MASSIVE attention. No toilet paper at ALL in the last stall. The toilet seat lids looked disgusting and covered with body oils. Keep in mind, my movie started at 12:40pm on a Monday, and the entire building was empty until we exited our movie around 2:30pm. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few days.
Parking was NINE DOLLARS!!!! I will just park on the street because that felt like theft. I was there for less than 3 hours so I basically paid $3/an hour to park in the movie theater's parking garage. At least when this location was a showbiz cinemas, you would receive a voucher for free parking if you watched a movie. If that is something that is still happening, I was never made aware of that when I received my movie tickets and I didn't see any signs notifying guests of that information.
I give them a 3/5 because I expected to buy over-priced popcorn and soda from the theater. Price gouging on parking and filthy bathrooms was NOT what I was expecting. I would probably only go to this location around the time that it opens until 3pm and only during the weekdays to actually feel like I'm getting my money's worth. I can't imagine how much more disorganized this place probably feels with the volume that the weekends...
