MEALZ AND DEALZ REVIEW: 👊🏼😋👊🏼 So much flavor!
We were in South Florida this weekend and we’ve been meaning to go to Homestead to try Chefs on The Run and you guys we finally did! I am so mad at us for missing out on such an amazing experience. Because honestly all their food is an experience of it’s own. Everything was literally amazing! I think it’s because the Chef takes the time to not cut any corners. He makes all his own sauces and rubs so everything has a personalized flavor.
So for our appetizer we had the Habanero Chicken, Macarrones de Res, Alcapurrias and Bolitas de queso….omg seriously a day later we are still taking about the Habanero Chicken mainly because it was a completely different chicken nugget. It was super super crunchy and fresh with a kick of spice and the Blue cheese mousse made it a perfect bite. Like am literally gonna be craving that appetizer until I go back.
The Alcapurrias were perfectly fried and not dry at all . The Bolitas de queso came with a guava sauce…It’s the best combination ever.
The Macarrones de res was fire! If I could I would eat that macaroni every day. It was made with chipotle Mac n cheese with braised oxtail short rib beef , tomato sofrito, truffle oil and topped with pecorino Parmesan cheese. I can’t even tell you how amazing that Mac N Cheese is!
The kids loved their meals. We have one of the pickiest eaters ever and our server was very accommodating to her and they made sure she was happy with her food. She loved every bite of her grilled cheese on Naan Bread.
I had the Churrasco Mofongo… so If I see Mofongo on a menu that’s what I go for because I love the garlic and crunchy combination but sometimes it can be too dry…not here people it was perfect not overly dry not overly greasy it was amazing and the Churrasco had so much flavor in it …am not sure how am going to like any other Churrasco because I finally found a place that does it right.
Dwight had the Tripleta sandwich. The tripleta is Puerto Rica street food with 3 meats on it. But this one was served on Naan bread and it was topped with a chimichurri Aioli. Dwight is still raving about it. The best tripleta he’s ever had and I can tell you my husband has had many tripletas in his life time.
Then we took dessert to go and that made us want to go back for dinner but it was late and we needed to get home to Orlando.
Seriously if you guys are looking for good quality food with amazing flavor Chefs on the Run has it all. The service is so accommodating and I seriously think we’re going to have to make a trip just to go back to eat there again because it’s...

Professional and casual wait staff, kitchen crew greets you personally when you come in. Eclectically decorated with local artwork for sale. Small dining room yet cozy and you can see what everyone else is eating, lol. The real treat is the cuisine. This is not a chain, this is not a chef trying to make a quick buck with trendy food. You can taste the love they put into their dishes here and the experience of the chef through the preparation, the fresh ingredients and the plating/delivery. Ask for the "nyeo" burger, not on the menu yet but it is one of the best burgers I've ever had anywhere (Irish white cheddar and the bacon had to have still been 1/4 inch I think after cooking, lol). Appetizer dishes are experimental but all solid (chicken haberno bites with blue cheese moose, breaded in house not frozen) The seasonal creations are outstanding, when we went he was doing a choice of Expresso rubbed prime steak, a grouper or Captain Morgan jumbo shrimp. I hope to try the monfongo next time we go, looked awesome. Also reasonably priced wine and local brews, wait staff knew what was being served as well and could provide recommendations. Best place we've found in South Florida hands down, we should Kickstarter this guy to get him and his staff a huge venue so more people will see how awesome this food is. Expect about a 30min wait time if they are busy, you could try calling ahead. Top notch, highest...
Read moreThis place was an adventure. We went there after seeing it profiled on “ Check Please”. We first thought it was closed because the front door said “ personnel only”. There was a couple sitting outside and told us that the restaurant had a “weird set-up”. The couple said someone comes out and takes the order and payment. Well, someone did come and directed us to the menu taped on the window. The waitress took our order and said if we wanted to eat there they had a back terrace. After taking our order & payment, the waitress went inside and locked the door behind her. My 12 year old felt what I felt but didn’t verbalize it-UNCOMFORTABLE! After we paid, the waitress told us to walk around the back and sit on a glass table inside the terrace. We walked around back and took a seat. Again the waitress was in and out, always locking the door behind her. I felt as though I was waiting for someone to commit a crime and that’s why the were inside behind locked doors. Now, let’s talk about the food! I had a burger along with one of my daughters. We waited about 40 minutes for our food, which I understood because it is made upon ordering. The burgers were delicious although extremely salty. My husband’s mofongo was also extremely salty. There was another customer there who had also watched “Check Please” and gave us a warming that the mofongo was filled with salt- my husband risked it and he said it was like eating nothing but salt and could not taste the plantains. Would we go back???? NO! Just felt extremely unsafe and not...
