Matt Pangelinan was an absolute blast to work with! My wife and I decided to go window shopping at Homeworld Pearlridge to get ideas for furniture as first-time home buyers. From the moment we walked in, Matt made us feel comfortable, nor we didn't feel any pressure to commit to buying anything at the time. Matt was able to help us find all the items we were looking for online and we decided to get an estimate for the furniture that caught our eye. At the end of the day, we didn't buy anything because we wanted to shop around and not regret purchasing anything on an impulse. Matt was super cool throughout the entire process and sent us a friendly text later that evening with a price breakdown for everything we were interested in.
After looking at different furniture stores on the island, we realized that nothing quite compared to the various selections and pricing that we found at Homeworld and Ashley. However, we decided to still wait to make sure we were making the right choice.
Fast forward a couple weeks later, I texted Matt the day before Thanksgiving that we decided to proceed with the purchase. With Black Friday quickly approaching, Matt recommended to come in sooner rather than later, as the store gets ridiculously busy and inventory tends to go low during the holidays. Thankfully, Matt was working at the Ashley Salt Lake location and was able to assist us just 30 mins prior to closing. We were able to do a quick walkthrough of all the furniture once more and settled on the purchase; Matt even noticed that the price on a bookshelf was lower than originally posted and made sure to apply the appropriate discount.
Overall, my wife and I are very satisfied with our experience at Homeworld/Ashley and the customer service of Matt! We felt that we received a personalized experience rather than just another salesperson trying to sell us something. We're excited with our purchase and can't wait to have everything delivered to furnish...
Read moreAshley furniture sofa products lack quality and sales associate lacks integrity. Cushions went soft in seven months on a brand new $1998 sofa. Ashley tried to repair sofa cushion, but when I received the ârepairedâ sofa, the cushions were still defective and provided no support. I did get a replacement exchange sofa since my original sofa was still under the one year warranty, but paid an additional $947 for the exchange. Integrity of Ashley sales rep âseanâ is lacking. He said the one year warranty on the replacement sofa would be valid, but when I received the sales receipt it stated replacement exchange does not include the one year warranty. I asked Sean about this since he and I discussed this before I decided to get the replacement sofa and he agreed that since I would be paying the cost difference for the replacement sofa the one year warranty should be valid. However, when I asked him about the lack of a one year standard warranty when I read the receipt he said he read the terms of the replacement incorrectly. I didnât make a big deal about this. However, when he said he wouldnât charge me for delivery of the replacement sofa then did charge me for delivery ($169 for a two mile delivery distance) this revealed how dishonest he is. I was being reasonable and understanding up to this point as everyone struggles to make a living here, but charging for delivery of a replacement under warranty (after agreeing not to charge for delivery) is dishonest. He already received commission twice for one sale. If I used Ashleyâs rationale of the terms of their one year warranty I shouldnât have been charged for the replacement sofa since the terms did not state anything about paying the cost difference between the original sofa and the replacement sofa.
I do not recommend Ashley store for your furniture needs as their sofa product was of poor quality, a frustrating and long process to resolve, and the sales rep has...
